China, Russia, Various other countries have it much worse than us. You're basing your opinions off of a few cherry picked sensationalist headlines.
read my edit jeez
It hadn't been made yet when I posted that jeez
slippery slope a gun protects and kills just like how body armor protects and kills
I now have the image of a SWAT Guy taking off his vest and trying to beat a Criminal to death with it.
I don't really understand the OP. Just seems to be general cop hate. If the police are looking for something and you keep trying to put your hands in your pockets, it could be anything. They're not psychic. It is a bit different in the UK. We have PACE that limits what officers can do. It would be illegal for them to take your hat off while they search you.
-Honestly, who cares if officers get rifles in their cruisers? They saw a problem where officers lacked the means to counter suspects in body armor, and have generally resolved it by issuing better rifles to officers. What part of this equation somehow offends anyone? This article is stupid as hell.
This. Here in my small Minnesotan community, the squad cars have a semi-automatic rifle in the trunk as a response to those two armored assholes in LA. That was waaaay before 9/11, even before the first WTC bombing. There is literally fuck all happening in my county, our SWAT team is a tri-county one and our cops have been well armed for a LONG time. Fuck, if they had to I'm sure most of the sheriff's department could go home and get their own AR's they have for personal use if they didn't carry issued ones in the squad car. 9/11 literally changed nothing for us, nor did anything that followed. Our police reacted on a possible threat and a lot of other small town police forces have done the same. We don't live in a police state out here, so I agree that this article is pretty much total bullshit. Also, state-to-state handling of crime is wide and varied, there's different policies to tackle different crimes and social issues. There's no gun running in Minnesota, but we do have a big problem with meth. Meanwhile, Arizona has a border with Mexico and we all know what a hot issue that is.
It in fact began in the early 1980s, as the Regan administration.....
Bias detected. I ain't reading the rest of this.
Bias detected. I ain't reading the rest of this.
Everything humans do is biased. You don't disregard something simply because of that, you critically analyze the material with that bias in mind. Oh yeah, before he ran out, he took a deputy's gun and shot him in the face, killing him. As his ass got whooped, and rightly so, his family, who was there in the courtroom, acted like he didn't do anything wrong, why did he get such a tune up from the police? Crying and screaming, and fucking Jane Vilez Mitchell saying "This is the clearest case of police brutality I have ever seen" on her little show on CNN I hope people like that, and all those Gotcha! fuckheads who carry a camera around and provoke police get cracked down on like Al-Qaeda cracks down on women in school People like that piss me off, and don't deserve to live in a place that offers them ALL the shit that they have BECAUSE of police keeping sub-human scum out of their neighborhoods
Yes the solution is to be as bad as the people we condemning, right. People with your kind of thinking scare me. It has like 5 ports for small arms and a hatch on the top!!!!! On a more serious note, I would kind of like to see a Bradley and an Abrams with police coloring and accessories.

What we need to do is gather up every lunatic who believes America is a police state and drop them in North Korea. After three years if it's not to hard to get them back we let 'em back in and see what they have to say then.

I'm not that stupid.
