There are about 25 people trapped in the gym in the town near mine because of flooding and by the looks of things they are going to be there till the morning.
I can guarantee people from the USA will be posting here soon saying something along the lines of "that's nothing, it's way worse here" and start bragging about how shit the weather is where they live.
They don't know what they're starting, nobody can complain about the weather they have better than a Briton. Also, I'm in Middlesbrough, power has been down for most of the town for the better half of the day.
Wales here (specifically the Wrexham area), been pretty gusty but nothing worse than a few signs knocked over, think all the big hills have taken the brunt of it.

why does garry insist on pissing off god over and over again?
Just drove home (Coventry) from Southampton, very windy, and then I notice, ahead there seems to be a load of lightning, I think cool, as I am driving closer I see a wall of black, no light pollution, I know this is rain so I smash the wipers to full and brace for impact. I get into the rain and can barely see ahead, then it starts to hail of all things, smallish stones but a ton of them. and then suddenly everything starts to go sideways, fast, it starts to push my car sideways, until I have about a quarter turn on the wheel to keep in the lane, and then suddenly it reverses direction, for about 5 seconds each time, and then hail again and back to rain for about 20 or so miles, correct me if I am wrong but to me it seemed like a tornado of sorts. was fun. running out of fuel 3 miles from my house because my gauge lied to me wasn't so fun.
i saw the wind literally blow someone off their ped onto the pavement at a traffic light, was pretty fuckign funny if you ask me
I live in Wallasey which is what New Brighton is practically part of. It's pretty shit since they just did a ton of renovation on the place. The wind last night was pretty strong though, I'm not surprised. Worst of all it destroyed the cool pirate ship RIP in peace pirate ship
Oh fuck no that was so cool ):
I was out in Plymouth sound doing some surveying earlier, goddamn it was windy. We were doing some measurements off the side of a boat and we nearly got blown into the naval dockyard :v:.

Not the first time the New Brighton one was destroyed though, it was burned by chavs last time and then rebuilt.

Though considering all the videos of the houses in West kirby having water sloshing over their fences I doubt many things not bolted to the ground around the coast have stayed in one piece.
The power at my student accommodation went out for about 7 hours. So I ate all my perishable fridge food and hibernated like a bear until the power came back on.
Well last night passed without incident for me . Evacuation s a few streets down but I escaped it. late in for college but I don't really care.

My fucking washing got blown off the line. It's happeningsville 2013 here. [editline]6th December 2013[/editline] Oh fuck no, there's a NEW Brighton, too? I hate normal Brighton as it is! People there are like fucking horses. They have conical vision or something, since they storm straight into you unless you move out of the way.
Middlesbrough represent. Cyclosius and I realised we were on the same course a while back and now everyone seems to be appearing.
I'm in Tees Valley and apparently not even the bad weather wants to come here, this storm included :v:
