Whats next, China, Norway, Japan, Australia, or the US makes the WORST prison in the whole world(the most horrible)?
This is fucking bullshit. Criminals are there to be punished, not rewarded.
They aren't being rewarded though
Not to mention, while they are in there, they're thinking about how could they be so cruel to whoever they hurt, in such a great country where everyones just trying to help, they'll feel terrible for being rapists, muderers, and any other crime that takes something away from someone.
Yes! They should sit in that prison and think about what they've done! And they can't come out until they've apologized!

What makes you think being locked in a cell for a majority of your day is a reward

I had that once. Tastes pretty good considering it's soapy fish
Seeing it makes me retch.
Damn Norwegian cousins.
Just a little reminder that Norway doesn't have any extradition agreements with the US because many US prisons doesn't meet the basic human rights standards.
Also, to those criticising this system, think of it like this:
It costs a lot to hold prisoners, no matter the quality of the prison, and if a prisoner just goes straight back to crime (Or ascends to a more serious level of crime, like going from minor pot possession to heavy drugs/robbery/murder) when they get out, you've just wasted that money.
If, on the other hand, the prison can manage to turn the criminal into a functioning member of society, you haven't only probably saved his future, but society is also safer for it.
It's more of an investment, really.
Rape your mother and father, then skin their corpses and feed them to your brother. And you get in there for life! Wee!
That wouldn't work. The highest punishment in Norway is 21 years. No exceptions.
This is fucking bullshit. Criminals are there to be punished, not rewarded.
Well you see son, Norway is a civilized country and unlike 3rd world countries (and the US apparently) being in prison, even this one, is worse than not being in prison.
And yet there are innocent people who are worse off.
Justice!

Aren't multiple charges served consecutively, not concurrently?
This is so fucking stupid, treating them like kings only makes them want to come back.

Being taken from your comfortable free life and placed in a cell where every action is restricted = being treated like a king
heard it here first folks

Finished the sentence for you

I think their is a fine line that Norway crossed. While the U.S system is way below the line, as it does not attempt to fix the problem, just hide it away in a cell, Norway on the other hand is to far above this line attempting to buy the problem. If punishment for a crime does not outweigh cost of committing the crime itself, then the system does not work. The U.S fails because they overpunish. Norway needs to tone down on the luxuries while keeping the self actualization system going.
I think they should try and find a middle ground for the sole reason that if I'm Bob the guy who just found his wife in bed with another man, and in the 2 secs of logical thought he realizes he does not mind living for 20 years in a college dorm as a price for exacting revenge then their is a flaw in the system.

Except living in a college dorm allows you to go to the outside world once in a while. It doesn't lead to the social ostracization that being imprisoned does, either.

Wow if you're homeless in norway...kill someone
It kinda sounds like a modern day japanese intern camp.
What about rapists?
This should only be for non violent offenders. I don't think people should be living a carefree and BETTER life in prison, that will just make them want to go there. This should be restricted to inmates with good behaviour an sich. Honestly this place sounds more like a summer camp then a prison.

Have you ever been to Norway?
They all live a better life than this prison.

I don't think it's possible to be homeless in Norway unless you choose to be.
