How much ID did you have to give them?
Bank account creds for level 1 (4 day waiting peroid for both buy and sell, if you buy a coin at 400 you will pay 400 then and get that coin 4 days later, same with selling)
and last 4 of SSN and credit card for instant transfers.
[Widgeon;42900477]Broke 600. Congrats everyone!!!

that's $360000
thats 36 and 4 zeros, and that's a lot
The funny thing is that To The Moon is a shit game.
lmao
over the past few years every single time i've seen bitcoins in SH it's always been because the price has risen to some new unprecedented extreme, at which point i thought "yeah i should have bought earlier, but now it's too late, it's going to crash soon"
3 or so years this has been happening and the price has increased by ~20 times and it still continues to rise and i'm still convincing myself not to buy
next thing you know i'll be browsing SH and i'll see a thread saying "bitcoins have broken $10,000 apiece!" and i'll be thinking wow i could've even bought at 500
You are forgetting the parts where
a) It has crashed fucking hard a lot of the time over the past 3 years
b) You can't get your money out in USD
Its seeming less like a currency and more like a stock.
Its seeming less like a currency and more like a stock.
nope because stocks are investments in companies or projects that intend to be profitable or produce something useful at some point.
this is a currency, one that has about as much functionality as:

It's actually either at the convenience of whoever is trying to justify it for whichever reason.
wait, does this mean that .5 btc I have in an online wallet is worth 250 now?

Fuck; turns out Instawallet was attacked and they shut down since my hiatus
I've been out of the loop for so long
I really have to wonder who the fuck is buying bitcoins for these prices, the uses that come with bitcoins don't seem worth it.
My guess is that the chinese are dumping some of their savings because of fear of the yen or got brainwashed into thinking everyone that buys will get rich.
I got 3BTC by mining with my 480 a few years ago, sold them when they were $20 :suicide:
Just SHARPLY droppped when a large holder sold 1000+ BTC and others panic sold...

Jesus Christ, that guy could have made easily a quarter of a million dollars profit. Why on earth did I never get into this?
Oh stop whinging about how you never bought into bitcoins, if you didn't think it was a good enough idea back then, the arbitrary price people pay for it now doesn't make it any better.
Just sold my 0,198BTC
Bought them in Oktober for 29€ and sold them for 76€ now.
I'm waiting for the bubble to burst, then I might buy again for 100€
i literally don't even understand where this value is coming from, what can you even fucking purchase with bitcoins? silkroad went offline like a month and a half ago, what are people still doing with these things
this is the biggest fucking bubble ever, it's going to be hilarious when it hits single-digit dollar values again
Nowhere, it has only the value people give it, it's worse than FIAT currency on that side.
Luckily, people seem to be willing to pay huge money for it, so buy low and sell high, laugh all the way to the bank.

Sadly I missed the first pop, definitely buying now when the second one comes, which might be this week.
Heck the extreme price of BTC might make LTC the silver to BTC's gold, so it might not be a bad idea to buy LTCs now.

until people realize what's going on, stop buying them, and you are stuck with a bunch of bitcoins you spent a bunch of money on that you can't get rid of.

Yeah but that doesn't happen overnight. I don't intend to hoard anything, if I buy, I'll sell as soon as it gets decently high. I'm not going to hoard cryptocurrencies hoping on the next peak being higher.

Wow those are great credentials you have there

Woop, called it.
Also my account tripped and bought them at 580
I made $100 today.
Is there, like, a 'bitcoins for dummies' book or something 'cuz this shit is extremely inaccessible
I was going to buy (at MtGox) at $30 something but the process of doing so was prohibitively difficult and I was put off. If you really want to invest money then why not just head into the regular stock market, it requires a lot more patience but it's also not volatile as fuck and you are insured from losing your money to hackers and whatnot.
Did anyone see this coming back in 2012?, can someone point out a discussion from a forum or something about how this is exactly what is going to happen to Bitcoin?
I'm not an economist, so can someone explain how can the bitcoins completely lose their value?
People will still need them to buy drugs on Silk Road so they can't become completely worthless, right?

You basically explained it yourself.
As long as people consider it a currency and there's a use for it, it won't be worthless.
Whenever the value of it is artificially low or high is another story.
Can we please make "i wish i had bought muh buttcoins at $30" a reason for a ban? Find something else to fill these threads with.

woah man, I didn't put muh into my post last time I did that I got banned for a meme reply
If i didn't buy some weed with my bitcoins 2 years ago i'd now be £25,000 richer. If i brought bitcoins again like i was planning to a year ago i'd still be £5,000 richer :(
