Dropped only 300 and it's going back up. Man, watching this is fun but I really wish it had dropped more. :(
Its stabilizing, and bouncing back. People are panic buying now lol
Oh okay now I see how this works.
Everyone buys up a shitload of bitcoins and hoards them as they watch the value rise.
Through services or trading even more coins change hands internally and when someone finally feels they have enough, they sell everything.
Sets off a chain reaction of panic selling and the value plummets, allowing new people to start buying coins for themselves. Rinse and Repeat.
What a strange fucking system.
you just described every rapidly fluctuating market ever
i dont get panic selling in buttcoins
who's really stupid enough to buy at an all time high
i dont get panic selling in buttcoins

it's not really that stupid because you have no idea when the price will dip again. are people who bought at the all time high of 500 last night stupid? because i'd argue definitely not
i dont get panic selling in buttcoins

Yeah those stupid people that bought at the all time high of $30.
It's not "recovering", that's denial.
It's going to implode again.
Yeah those stupid people that bought at the all time high of $30.
though most of those people have likely long since sold theirs, or have been participating in the market as it has fluctuated, and have thus not made a ridiculous amount of profit
i think many of the people who became richest from bitcoin are those who sold all of their bitcoins after the very first spike at around $250 or so

i meant more specifically at this high price

Most likely. If we can find the archived thread from the last major BTC discussion you'll see very similar trends to this one.
ps. put it on cosbymode, it's very funny.
...with their hippin' and their hoppin' and their bippin' and the boppin'
I'm going to make my own version of bitcoin.

With blackjack, hookers and elliptic curves.
We will use pictures of rocks.

You know what's even better than making fun of bitcoin on days like these? Having some.
[editline]18th November 2013[/editline]
I have a grand total of ~1.3 left over from mining about a year ago, needless to say they're not going anywhere soon. Learned (and continuing to learn) my lesson from spending the other 19 in the meantime...

The way you've acted in this thread that doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm sure you would've felt bad about the people who bought in at the peak of the $30 bubble in 2011. What idiots, eh?
Yup. Bitcoins are super dumb even if people pay lots of actual money for them

Aw fuck guys I missed the party.
I could have made double the money I sold for on saturday night if I sold this morning, but better safe than sorry, and any profit is good profit.
Glad I got out when I did though :v: a rich profit is still good even if its not "richer than rich" (aka me selling this morning instead of on saturday night).
It isn't different this time. Bubble up ~5x, fall by 50%, repeat.
coinbase.com is down for "maintenance"
apparently they need more servers for all the demand lol
Wow such sustainable
So like Google and Facebook - cycle cycle
820 now
wow
And I thought I considered buying in last time it crashed. Though I don't blame myself.
I wish it didn't take so fucking long for Coinbase to verify your banking account. Is there anything else to use as a Bitcoin wallet?
I kind of want to see this hit a grand now.
I kind of want to see this hit a grand now.
I want to see it hit a grand because of the panic selling and it dropping to what I hope will be close to $200 and then I can buy a few fractions of a buttcoin to giggle when they go back up and I make like $10.
I'm still happy I sold at 580, plus I bought back after it dipped lower.
Crash, please.
