how coincidental, chrome wouldn't load on my main due to some dumb appdata conflict, so i decided to use firefox instead after clicking on something in imgur, my main now has a rouge AV, lol [editline]16th December 2011[/editline] just happened a few mins ago
blame your insecure os
chrome sucks as demonstrated by this chart
Ever since Firefox came out I have used it. It has never caused any problems for me. I have tried Chrome as well, it's great but I was more used to Firefox so I switched back.
As long as you aren't using IE I don't think anybody really cares.
See, you'd have a legitimate reason to say that if IE still had awful standards compliance. It used to be that Firefox and Chrome led the way regarding Web standards compliance, and Websites written for that compliance were broken in IE. Now, they're all mainly on par, and recent versions of IE are actually showing some promising support for emerging standards (like HTML5). There's this test of Web standards compliance - Acid3. It took them a while, but IE's now on the same level as the other browsers - 100/100. Now the question is which is more easy to use, and who gives a shit if someone decides the answer to that is IE?
I don't think Chrome would have saved you from clicking on fake AV ads :v:
it was a drive-by-download rootkit that used a exploit in flash's updating system [editline]16th December 2011[/editline]
blame your insecure os
my main has windows 7, this is just a shitty XP laptop i'm on
Google Chrome has theeemes, bitches!
And firefox doesn't? We have personas that don't clutter up the entire page with some bullshit but add some nice artwork around the top section and bottom add-on bar.
Safari master race
I like Chrome's start up time and interface, though the separate tabs = separate browser is a bit painful for my weak laptop. I've tried the others, but I think chrome is the best in terms of speed and general cleanliness.
But it is well known that browser x is clearly bad in all the things I will list now. It looks worse than browser y The name, honestly how can anyone claim x is better than y The way you have to move your mouse in browser x, so awful And a slew of other things which mark browser x as clearly inferior.
It's nearly impossible to build a rendering engine that never crashes or hangs. It's also nearly impossible to build a rendering engine that is perfectly secure. In some ways, the current state of web browsers is like that of the single-user, co-operatively multi-tasked operating systems of the past. As a misbehaving application in such an operating system could take down the entire system, so can a misbehaving web page in a modern web browser. All it takes is one browser or plug-in bug to bring down the entire browser and all of the currently running tabs. Modern operating systems are more robust because they put applications into separate processes that are walled off from one another. A crash in one application generally does not impair other applications or the integrity of the operating system, and each user's access to other users' data is restricted.

I find the separate-processes-for-tabs to be actually useful.
Same. Thanks to the snow effect, when I open up 6 tabs of Facepunch, Chrome freezes. But since it's Chrome, I can ctrl+esc and end just the process for those tabs, and whatever else I was looking at will still be there.
