How does this company still have money to operate?
I liked Brink, it wasn't as good as I expected but I still really enjoyed it, and I'm definitely looking forward to see what Splash's new project will be.
oi I still play Wolf ET. unless you mean Quake Wars which is gathering dust.
what server?

I liked Brink, the only reason why it died was because it's developers weren't fixing shit
Last time I tried Brink for fucks, there were 7 people online. And that was months ago.

Day before my birthday. Neat.
pcg has funny writers reminds me of tf2 blog posts or something
One of the reasons Brink wasn't liked was because of a poor metagame and progression. There were literally just 20 levels that didn't take hard to reach the maximum, and progression was boring (seriously, you got all the attachments and weapons by playing four boring "challenge" missions.) Gamers these days like a carrot on a stick, hence why games like COD (With a juicy and rewarding progression system) are so intensively played.
the RPG elements are one of the main things that killed brink for me
Let's hope they take what was good about brink, and leave behind it's flaws, because it was a pretty good game.
Am I the only one that actually enjoyed Brink, I though it was a decent game
Well brink wasn't a flop but it was a bad game.
servers were empty within like 2 weeks dude, brink sucked and flopped
It's good that they keep trying. Brink was on the verge of being a really good game, but had too many fundamental flaws and a lack of content at launch. This just means they can learn from the mistakes and correct them next time. I wouldn't even call it bad. I had fun with the multiplayer while it lasted, but it had no chance of holding its own next to other $50-$60 games. [editline]23rd November 2012[/editline]
servers were empty within like 2 weeks dude, brink sucked and flopped
It had a few full servers up until August when it was revitalized a bit by the free DLC. Then it maybe went another month before it was a ghost town.
Wolf: ET was my first online FPS, remember it fondly. Still have it on disc somewhere, came with some PC magazine. Hopefully it's not as disappointing as Brink. I feel bad for hyping Brink, I was in the beta and I posted my thoughts on it in quite a few places. My only complaint being the lack of content, something they didn't fix with release.
Brink was a decent game. It gets a lot of hate but people still can't really point out how it's so terrible. It wasn't like the initial trailer for the game, that's a huge problem and made many people expect something the game had no intentions of being. However, that being said, the movement in it gets a lot of shit thrown at it, but honestly, I played for a month after launch, and got quite good with the system. Running and gunning became really easy, and I could pull off crazy moves, I recall more than a few times sliding over something, jumping off a near wall, and climbing onto the floor above me, doing a side jump off two walls while chasing someone, shooting at them, and then realizing I was being chased myself, threw myself into a slide, turned around mid slide and shot the guy who was chasing me. That to me wasn't a totally rare thing, and I saw other people have similar experiences, but the games population dwindled so fast it just got impossible to play for fun, because god damn did bots ever suck. I played for all of that so, if you want to believe that go for it but you're wrong. It wasn't what it needed to be but it could have been great. The upgrade system to me felt impactful and significant, it didn't need to be endless for that to be good.
within two weeks i logged on and there were like 8 servers with people playing on them. i don't know if it was regional or something but brink emptied quick
I was logging on every other day or so for at least a month and a bit and there was a moderate sized community that consistently played. Under 25 populated servers but still a decent sized community.
It was on the brink of being a good game. Too bad the bugs and the shitty console port killed it.
Am I the only one that actually enjoyed Brink, I though it was a decent game
It was. But the fact that it was mediocre was the big disappointment. We thought we'd get a combination of Mirror's Edge and a great shooter. What we got was a shooter that didn't quite feel right, had pretty but badly designed maps, and it just didn't bring anything interesting to the table.

It wasn't a well received game, but it had a community enough to constantly play for a couple of months, and wasn't as bad as people pegged it for being in my opinion. I can seriously say that it had better running than Mirrors edge that allowed you to pull off amazing manoeuvres once you got used to it.
It's going to be Enemy Territory: Brink Wars.

I would love a HD Wolf ET. Played that game to bits when I was a kid
I hated the fact that in Brink you could shoot a shirtless man with a shotgun and not have him die.
I should of been more specific when i said flopped. I mean it made a lot of money for Splash damage and Bethesda because it sold 2.5 million copies. I agree it died quick and was a bad game though don't get me wrong.
I pre-ordered brink, it looked so good. Then it came out, I had pre-loaded it. I tried launching it, but it didn't work. Turns out the engine was made to simply lock out anything with less than2 cores, and there were many cases of it getting it wrong anyway. And then came all the reviews and views and opinions. I was so disappointed, it had looked so promising. I upgraded to dual core a few months ago on the cheap. I still haven't played Brink. Considering how grilled it got, I suppose there's no point by now, not enough people probably.

Thats pretty pathetic, especially since they only did a handful of updates that barely fixed anything. After that they released their free map that they were planning to sell had their game not flopped so badly. I'm pretty sure they just gave up from the get go.
