Guess what state senators have lots of that lets them do campaigns like this - money

Sounds interesting. What's the plan about?
Yeah because we can just do that
well right after submitting a petition to the government website requesting the use of firearms be allowed for revolutionary purposes we can
The fuck do you think the Second Amendment was about?
Keep in mind this was back when it took like 5 minutes to fire a gun a second time.

Well, to be fair, you can actually reload a musket rather fast if you're good at it.

Either way you'd have your shit on the floor getting beaten before you could reload.

Closer to 20 or 30 seconds for most. The best of the best could get a shot off every 10 seconds.
I'd love to see a response for this one:

The British army could fire four rounds per minute.

someone was mad that obama didn't instantly legalise marijuana.

A failed drug war and huge amounts of evidence pointing towards weed being a low impact substance, as well as the decrease in drug rates seen from other legalization policies elsewhere in the world should make it pretty obvious this would be a lot better than keeping it illegal.

That's called a "coup d'etat".
Here are a few amazing examples of leaders who came to power from a coup:
Omar Hasan Ahmad al-Bashir of Sudan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omar_Hasan_Ahmad_al-Bashir)
Idriss Déby of Chad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idriss_Déby)
Augusto Pinochet of Chile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augusto_Pinochet)
4,600 signatures
ahaha this is too good
nearly 6k signatures, keep it rolling
Just because people sign a petition doesn't mean the white house would ever consider sending it through congress (or use some magical power and bypass congress). I thought the response to the marijuana petition was well thought out and treated seriously (they posted reliable sources in their response as well I believe).

-White house gives reasons why they don't want to legalize marijuana.
-Contradicts itself because they allows other substances matching the description of things they don't like.
-Someone points it out.
-"LOL SOMEONE MAD, STUPID POTHEAD"

They did, but it wasn't the answer people were looking for.
Can I vote?
Hahaha.
These things can happen only in the US.

Hahaha.
This is such an ignorant post.

Wonder why alcohol isnt banned then.
Really we should have seen this coming when they upped the signature requirement by 20k.

Because its been an integral part of society since the dawn of time.
However, weed is quickly becoming an integral part of society as well so its only a matter of time before its legalized.

my point was that all their reasoning also applies to alcohol. It was a joke of a response.
Breaking news, petitions signed on a website aren't being taken seriously. More at eleven.
I've honestly never heard about a single online petition making any difference in the slightest, so I don't know why people are surprised.

Lowering pay for senators and making sure new programs and government organizations actually work before pouring money into them.

Is it wrong that I agree with that?
I can't see any other way to get through to them.

they only have power because we give them power.

Except we can't fucking do that.
Let's see, if we tried to start a revolution, we'd have to get through the military, and the police, and all the people who support the current government, and more.
It's a bit harder to revolutionize now that the government isn't just a bunch of guys with muskets.
And shiiiiiit, even when the government was just guys with muskets we barely fucking pulled it off, what kind of a fucking chance do we have now?
Since when was popular opinion always the best decision?
Since when was popular opinion always the best decision?
Since popular sovereignty, which supposedly is one of the founding ideas of the United States of America.
I like how our government doesn't give half a shit about reform.
