White House petition to actually take White House petitions seriously
It was created by the government under the assertion that the proposals would be taken seriously and even proposed in Congress if they received enough signatures.
No, if the petition got enough signatures it would be sent to the appropriate person and given a response.
I like how on the petitions page everything basically says "Regulate tobacco and alcohol like weed because its worse for you". The whole thing was a good idea but seeing as how the white house isnt taking any of it seriously its just as good as a piece of donkey shit.
Form a PAC with about $2 billion in their war chest to support candidates that will legalize weed, and see how fast things change. The White House would listen VERY intently were that the case.

I've honestly never heard about a single online petition making any difference in the slightest
Go read about Avaaz
Their most recent success was petitioning to have F1 drivers boycott the Bahrain Grand Prix - and they did
So it takes 25,000 signatures now? When did this happen?

My guess is because the government doesn't wanna legalize marijuana.
They got surprised by the percentage of pro-legislation supporters.
After I logged in, it took me to a 404, and going back forces me to log in again.
What's the point in "We The People" if they can refuse to resolve anything against "current policy"
I thought the point of this was to reform current policy.
Whoever made this petition is human being of the week.
Also, hope this passes, its hilariously true.

The three pro-weed petitions I saw were the top three, and HUGELY popular.

People are going off the scale about supporting weed.
I'm no USA resident but I found this pretty amazing.

Still there. The lizards haven't taken over. Yet.
at least in the UK our MPs think about debating these petitions (even though they haven't bothered to yet)
UK: 0.0001
USA: 0

Your petitions mean nothing to the white house.
The executive branch doesn't pass bills.
Write to your congressman instead.
