Isn't Facepunch in the UK anyway so Garry won't have to enforce this law? Or am I really bad at understanding internet laws?
Enforcing this sounds like a shitstorm.
Enforcing this sounds like a poo-poo storm.
There I fixed it for you, don't want to teach the kids bad language. :downs:
What if they lie about their age?
If they're lying it's their own fault that they won't get their posts removed.
Isn't Facepunch in the UK anyway so Garry won't have to enforce this law?
Read the article people it's in the first damn sentence :v:
and according to that, this is a good law kids are real dumb with personal info we need a way to protect them from THEMSELVES obviously a parent should know enough just by nature but you still need a "Safety net" from kids being stupid little shits
This is good, I don't know why people are bashing this. It would be better if it was for everyone and not just minors though.
even though i live in california I REFUSE to enforce this law
Nobody will ever give a fuck about your refusal. Law must be obeyed. :v:
This is good, I don't know why people are bashing this. It would be better if it was for everyone and not just minors though.
if you're over 18 and are too stupid not to post your address publicly I think you shouldn't be in the internet period

A kid can be just as responsible with their personal information as an adult if they've been taught what not to post on the internet.
Laughing my ass off right now
Stresiand Effect to the fucking max
There's one thing I know that Facepunch will never fully undo on the internet. Doug and Dougpunch, he'll never stop coming back.

Doxxing is already not permitted on this forum so this basically changes nothing, anything that could cause harm to a user would already be removed?
i'm in full support of this.
Doxxing is already not permitted on this forum so this basically changes nothing, anything that could cause harm to a user would already be removed?
But if a complete idiot like say, Knux95, posts something retarded and people quote him, he can ask for all the posts that quoted him to be removed. And that's bad.
hi gerry can you please remove oify for the good of everyones reputation their thank you and god bless
But if a complete idiot like say, Knux95, posts something retarded and people quote him, he can ask for all the posts that quoted him to be removed.
Maybe, instead of making it easy to cover up our mistakes, we should make people own up to them and accept the consequences to what they put on the internet. This is dumb as hell.
I think that beyond this, people need to realize that shit people say when they're teenagers isn't completely representative of them once they've grown up. Shit I posted back in '06 and 15 years old doesn't reflect who I am now, and realistically shouldn't be affecting my job opportunities. Unless I did something criminal.
even though i live in california I REFUSE to enforce this law
Starpluck will never let the man take his illegal pictures of minors away.
Why do they keep bothering trying to do the parents job when it would be soooo much more effecient and productive to educate parents on the internet and how to deal with their children on the internet.
Unconstitutional
I wish they would do this so forums and other places would have to enforce the no 13 year olds rule
But if a complete idiot like say, Knux95, posts something retarded and people quote him, he can ask for all the posts that quoted him to be removed. And that's bad.
Except:
The bill would [...] require the operator of an Internet Web site [...] to remove [...] content or information posted on the operator’s Internet Web site [...] unless the content or information was posted by a 3rd party
[editline]4th October 2013[/editline]
Why do they keep bothering trying to do the parents job when it would be soooo much more effecient and productive to educate parents on the internet and how to deal with their children on the internet.
Because parents are getting fucking lazy and only focusing on themselves? Seriously, half of the issues we have stem mostly from our parents inability to actually be good parents.
I don't see what is so bad about this, it's not a BAD idea, but it could probably get annoying. There should be some limits/exceptions/restrictions, just like any other good law.
It is a bad law and idea because it is worded in a way that will make it easy for it to be abused and directly clashes with the Internet as it is now. Plus it is a 'nanny law'.
I don't see what is so bad about this, it's not a BAD idea, but it could probably get annoying.
