You're damn right I meant well, and for the record, I'm cis. Just because I can't explain what I want to say properly doesn't forbid me from stating my opinion, doesn't it? Perhaps I'm ignorant of some things as well, seeing the hostile reactions to my post. I didn't even think "educating" people would be necessary. Transgender rights should be a fundamental thing, and if you don't support them, you're a bigot, simple as that.
Also to some people here, if you want to make bold claims about a child's mind, at least do your research before hand instead of pulling assumptions out of your ass, which I do all the time myself. That's probably why people are mad at me too.
Not only is this another retarded Facepunch Hivemind post, you actually go so far as to tell people how they should think and feel. Are you the fucking thought police now? If you want minds to change, you can't just tell them they're not allowed to think that ever, you need to explain why what they're thinking is wrong. You can't force people to accept things, and the harder you shove it into their faces the more they will resist. They need to accept it on their own terms. All you can do is educate.
Oh and bashing Christians (or any other religion) is not bigotry when the conversation is in the context of reality, existence, the universe, etc. This is right up there with stupid "militant atheist" claims. Good god your post might just be the worst I've seen in months.
If you're for transgender rights then what's up with the hostility? You could at least have slipped some hint that you're at least for the gist of what I say because at first glance at this post I thought you were against it.

Brilliant content. All of these vids.

Honestly I'm just going to say sorry, my tone could have been better. I don't like posts like the one you made but it shouldn't have been as big of a deal as I made it out to be. I guess I just find the trans debates... old. It's just not something I care enough about to fight over, and I'm not sure why I even read the threads. Habit I guess.
Woops, he made a website about MaxofS2d too
Honestly I'm just going to say sorry, my tone could have been better.
As could mine have been but it's about a subject that's important to me. I'm sorry myself, but I'm always learning.
I guess I just find the trans debates... old.
They're old because people are still clinging on to their old-fashioned views.

Don't worry, it has a disclaimer
ALL PEOPLE ON THIS WEBSITE ARE FICTITIOUS. ANY RESEMBLANCE TO REAL PERSONS, LIVING OR DEAD, IS PURELY COINCEDENTAL.
It's nothing.
Lol says the psychopath that personally traced a transgender girl here who was in the closet and told all of her friends, just because she was trans.
sorry how do you be 'closet transgender'
"mum dad i have something to tell you... i'm actually a girl"
sorry how do you be 'closet transgender'
"mum dad i have something to tell you... i'm actually a girl"
By acting as one gender to avoid problems even though you don't identify as that gender?
sorry how do you be 'closet transgender'
"mum dad i have something to tell you... i'm actually a girl"
How can you be a closet homosexual? Same exact premise.
When a child is 3 they hardly even know what "gender" is.
Not necessarily true.
We all develop a sense of our gender identity at a very early age, some between the ages of 2-3. Though, obviously, if your gender and sex match (cisgender) then there's no problem. When they're trans that's when dysphoria and crippling depression sets in and you don't have to be an adult to understand what those are.
Funnily enough, his point is that the transgender community is ironically hostile to anyone who doesn't think exactly like they do.
Wow it's almost like when people that disagree with trans* individuals call them unnatural they're insulting and defaming their entire fucking existence so maybe they deserve to be a little bit hostile back
EDIT: Alright Blackbird, since I can't send private messages I'm gonna ask here since I know you're still watching the thread. What's disagreeable about this? I'm legitimately curious and I want to hear your views.
How can you be a closet homosexual? Same exact premise.
liking cock and not wanting a cock are two very different things
liking cock and not wanting a cock are two very different things
Yeah but being in the closet is still the same thing.
You don't want people to find out you're transgender so you force yourself to act like the gender you don't identify as. Same as you don't want people to know you like the same sex so you pretend to like the opposite sex.
Being in the closet is essentially pretending to be something you're not.
"historically disadvantaged" what bullshit
But transsexuals are historically disadvantaged.
sorry how do you be 'closet transgender'
"mum dad i have something to tell you... i'm actually a girl"
Seriously? Pretty easily dude, by hiding from everyone else the fact that you don't identify with the body you're in.
You identify as a woman, but you're still to everyone else a man. Maybe you live in a society, culture, or just have a family that would not accept you as a woman, so you hide it. You stay a man to everyone else to prevent social exclusion and harassment
IMO birth certificates should show what you are born as and not be changed. That is why they are called birth certificates, they record your data upon birth.
IMO birth certificates should show what you are born as and not be changed. That is why they are called birth certificates, they record your data upon birth.
what? thats not how they work at all
when you change your name, you also can change it on your birth certificate by court order when you legally change it, same with gender
birth certificate exist to verify someone's existence to the government, if the gender is wrong its invalid as a verification
Whenever I see a kid making a gender decision it always looks to me like it's their parents forcing it on them.
Also the solution to the birth certificate thing would just be to relabel the "sex" (or gender, I'm not sure what B.C. ones say) field as a "sex at birth" field for every birth certificate
Birth certificates give information about the child at their birth. It's already implied that "sex" is 'sex at birth'. I don't see why further clarification is necessary - should we also specify 'name at birth' in case they change that?
I don't understand why we're retroactively changong birth certificates anyway. that's how you were. Deal with it.

too bad thats nearly impossible to do because in their mind they will always be their correct gender.
maybe refrain from making statements on things you dont understand? birth certificates get retroactively changed all the time, what you were born as believe it or not is of zero relevance to the government. the government just needs to know who you are now.
But transsexuals are historically disadvantaged
please enlighten me as to how they are 'historically' disadvantaged'
this implies that THROUGHOUT HISTORY transsexuals have been 'disadvantaged', which is disgracefully incorrect, please at least state why or give copious examples (tip: you can't, nor can you give examples from the past 100 years) to attempt to back your point up
and also italicising 'are' does not help your point, please stick to your day job
There's no such thing as transgender. You're either a girl or a guy, you can dress however you want but you either got girly party or man parts, it all depends on what reproductive organ you have not how you feel, that's why they put only one option on a birth certificate.

How do you think a man who said he was female or acted feminine would have treated back in 1860?

dear god people here are more stupid than anticipated, i'll dumb it down for you
'throughout history' means through HISTORY, meaning for a long time, and not the 19th and 20th centuries
phooey.

I was only saying that because when I was 10 or 3 me and the kids I hanged out with weren't focused on our gender and were more focused on how to have fun. It just seems odd that some kid randomly decides he or she wants to be the opposite sex and everyone is OK with it even when the kid has yet to fully mature.
