We all develop a sense of our gender identity at a very early age, some between the ages of 2-3. Though, obviously, if your gender and sex match (cisgender) then there's no problem. IMO birth certificates should show what you are born as and not be changed. That is why they are called birth certificates, they record your data upon birth.
