As long as there is people, there will always be war.
Just like as long as there are games, there will be piracy. Its unstopable.
The only thing that makes me want to buy games is a multiplayer mode. Most singleplayer only games arent even worth the thought these days...
Yes of course Mr. EA spokesperson, they can download the game but not the DLC
oh wait
He does not seem game savvy to me.
Pirate games is possible but the catch is someone had to of bought it to start and sometimes when new games is out it is hard to find a decent torrent.
Uh, you only have to join a private torrent community to have the games right as they are released.
The only thing at those sites is, No seeding = Ban.
And because of lots of leechers making accounts on new ip's after leeching, some are invite only now.
[sp]if you want one i can give a link[/sp]
So encourage those pirates to pay for something, he figures
how do you encourage someone who can get everything for free to pay for stuff that they can get for free
Good for him. At least he's not responding to pirates by attempting to ruin the PC gaming community (*cough cough* Activision).
that was iw, not activision
do they really think people can't get the DLC illegitimately
It's EA, their stupidity far surpasses anything ever seen in the history ever, with the possible exception of heelie shoes.

by actually giving people fines 10000000x the money they pirated.
I hope this is not just an excuse to start ripping games apart and charging for game-essential DLC like this DLC contains the .exe of your game or this DLC contains some .dll files of your game (other dll files are sold seperately!)

The netherlands. We write our shit as €00,- or €00,00
Our decimal dot, is a comma and visa verca.

Then all people in the world would team up to buy one copy of all each time, and torrent those.
If they could pirate the game itself, they can very likely find a way to obtain the DLC without paying as well.
I think he's just trying to woo over those who have been rampantly pirating EA games by putting them in a positive light.
Just reduce the strict protections placed on legally purchased sotware, and the games will be pirated much less. Although, it wont stop people who just wanted free shit and happened to have an excuse.
Ok oK, I pirated a game that was 12 gigs, took me a WHOLE WEEK TO DOWNLOAD IT, nOW IM GOING TO TRY IT!
Sweet it's awesome I'm now going to BUY IT, and waste my goddamn time.
I'm not going to lie, but I actually do that. I never have time to play games during the week and I don't want to waste $60 on a shitty game that I can't return.

Those strict protections are to make it a lot more effort to crack a game. Which they might aswell not place, as its gonna be cracked anyways, if they spend those extra millions for the protection in actually making a good game, people wouldn't torrent as much.
So ingenuis it might work. What i don't want to see is a half finished game though, legit buyers better not get fucked over.
"The consumer seems to really like this idea that there is extra stuff," Riccitiello said, while expressing surprise that some of this DLC is downloaded so soon after people start playing the games.
Basicly removing stuff from games and selling them

Activision still own IW and Kotick is a royal ass.
EA, just stop trying. You are already dead to us. Remember?
1.000.000,- ?? In europe we use a comma, not a dot. Dot's are to make it easier to read large numbers, 1.000.000 is easier to read than 1000000.
1 million dollars, 0 cents
do they really think people can't get the DLC illegitimately
They are trying to make it look like they are the boss and dont care.
Can't download DLC my ass, the DA:O DLC was torrented before they even UNLOCKED it, their fault for being retarded enough to include DLC in the game on release day.
I suppose they could go the console route and check the deep, dark recesses of your purchase history in an account system against the files you are trying to access every time you log on.

Yes, this is a good idea.
""They can steal the disc, but they can't steal the DLC," he said."
Yes they can. very easily.
