Activision still own IW and Kotick is a royal ass.
this is true but MW2 was all IW, regardless
Yes, this is a good idea.
Crackers will get around it anyway, so why spend so much money on making things like this.
If they aim for a lower price per game instead of the usual 50-60 bucks they will sell more. 60 bucks is like 11 hours of work for most teenagers. Or they could release their games in packs so they take an extremely long time to download. You could spend 4 weeks with an overloaded internet connection or spend two days of work and get a few games. And it would sell the not so popular games.
I'm not saying I support piracy, but *statement supporting piracy* Extremely high prices + Shitty quality = upset people.
Be honest with yourself.

As games gets more advanced and better, gaming companies have to compete with each other. They have to spend a lot more budget, spending it on developers, advertisement, voice actors, scriptors, and etc. They didn't out of the blue said "HEY! LET'S INCREASE THE PRICE BY 10 DOLLARS FOR NO REASON!". GTA IV spent over a million in dollars to develop the game and probably more to advertise it. When people pirate it and don't buy it, they lose the money then have hard time paying for more developers to make a sequel. I don't approve game publisher's retarded tactics to stop pirating, but I see where they're coming from.
Good for him. At least he's not responding to pirates by attempting to ruin the PC gaming community (*cough cough* Activision).
That wasn't a response to pirates, the guys just a douchebag.
GTA4 and MW2 sold SO well they can easily pay off all these costs.
What if the developers, voice actors, scripters, special effects experts, coordinators, and etc. ask for more as they grow? They ain't developing a sure-game that'll make millions for a queasy 100 bucks.

It's a trap, they're setting up fake torrents then basicly encouraging people to download them.
It's a trap, they're setting up fake torrents then basicly encouraging people to download them.
Idiots will fall.
you know what they should do? Make a deal with websites like Rapidshare to give them a share of the money that we pay them for premium memberships. (for every game we pirate)
What if the developers, voice actors, scripters, special effects experts, coordinators, and etc. ask for more as they grow?
Sounds like Wealth Redistribution.
They ain't developing a sure-game that'll make millions for a queasy 100 bucks.
This is why Contracts, Salaries, and Wages were invented. They want to Compete, yet they don't price competitively, also I find it funny despite having bigger budgets we get the same shitty games pumped out every year just re-branded NEW FOR 2009 SPORTS 2010 WITH BRAND NEW FEATURES (from SPORTS 2003/2004/2005 removed in SPORTS 2006 just to be slowly added back BUT WITH HDR AND SHINY WRAPING), also what about fucking PC game ports, despite INCURRING MORE COST IN PROCESS OF PORTING, and the OVERWHELMING majority of game pirated being for PC, they can magically slap on $49.99 on the PC version yet the console version for some reason has the $59.99 sticker
GTA IV spent over a million in dollars to develop the game and probably more to advertise it.
you know what they should do? Make a deal with websites like Rapidshare to give them a share of the money that we pay them for premium memberships. (for every game we pirate)
RS won't be happy with that.
DLC on XBOX 360 is inaccessible to pirated games. But what about PC? Don't tell me they will charge us for DLC on PC games. That could be a bad move
"They can steal the disc, but they can't steal the DLC,"
Somebody get this guy up to date.
Don't tell me they will charge us for DLC on PC games. That could be a bad move
They already do if you didn't know.
you know what they should do? Make a deal with websites like Rapidshare to give them a share of the money that we pay them for premium memberships. (for every game we pirate)
Or you could just get skipscreen and not pay them anything. :buddy:
Well that sounds very unlike EA.
Resisting an opportunity to squeeze as much money as possible out of people? Sounds just like them.
Or you could just get skipscreen and not pay them anything. :buddy:
Skipscreen still makes you wait for the download to finish before you can start the next, thus making paying a little for RS an easy choice.
Because typically people pirate to test out the game.
as much as people say this, they usually only really buy the game when it's down to %40 of the initial cost. and even then, only a small amount of the people who say "i just do it to test it out" ever even buy it.

The only games worth not torrenting are valve games tbh.
I'm not going to buy a game wich i tested out for a day or two, and already got to the end of it. The only games worth not torrenting are valve games tbh.
I completed ep1 and ep2 in a day, by your logic I shouldn't buy them.
I completed ep1 and ep2 in a day, by your logic I shouldn't buy them.
But they add to the overall experience of garrysmod, that's the reason i bought em.
