Being gay isn't even abnormal or against most people's views now. It's so sickening that people still fight over these childish issues, hopefully when I am old and grey I will be able to talk to my grandchildren about how terrible things were with the ridiculous hate that is around and we can all sigh relief that it's gone but I feel as though that is a tad bit optimistic.
Story's from 2008 too, why's it even coming up now
[editline]7th July 2011[/editline]
Also I don't see how me misunderstanding the shooter's motives starts
"VENOMOUSBEETLE HATES GAYS"
"VENOMOUSBEETLE LOVES KILLING INNOCENTS AND BABIES AND IS A BASTARD"
You don't even know my sexuality

2008 is recent, this case is on-going and is an important reminder to people to think twice before ridiculing people over their beliefs/ ways of life.
A bit like WW2 is a reminder to people of how brutal war can be.

It's still on-going?
How long do cases go on for, you got that mother killing her daughter years ago, you got this, you got some australian kid's party, etc.
It's not as if the gay boy did anything to hurt the other boy. I hate people like this.
Right, the article states that he's a white supremacist and that he shot him in the back of the head twice. Number one, it's not easy to shoot someone in the back of the head if they're raping you, which contradicts your first conclusion. Number two, white supremacists generally aren't the most reputable people. They're the kind of people who'd lie out their ass to "justify" crimes.

I said raped, not raping
And like I said, I am NOT okay with this.
Not sure how my post made people think I am.
And yeah supremacists suck. Does the West Borrow Baptist Church count?
This is why the Christian Lobby should be prosecuted for inciting hatred.
Well, not all of it, but certain people, e.g. Westboro Baptist Church.
-snip-, accidently posted an edit
going to be honest, asking a known white supremacist to be your valentine takes balls
RIP
i knew larry king was gay
also, greaaaat defense.
"uh its not murder he just purposefully killed him. yeah."
Pisses me off when there's hardly ever any actual good news stories about someone killing somebody for good, righteous reasons.
you sound like a terrible human being
A terrible banned human being.
If homophobia is being scared of gays...
Is straightphobia being scared of homophobics?

I don't believe the problem has come up enough for a widely used term to have been coined.
I'm fucking disgusted that he can get away with this.
He's on trial right now. He hasn't "gotten away" with anything.

The term for not liking homophobes is "reasonable"
The term for not liking homophobes is "reasonable"
i don't even get that term "homophobe"
homo means MAN, and phobe means FEAR OF. so thats like FEAR OF MAN
Voluntary Manslaughter is where someone is provoked into killing someone, and it is considered reasonable that someone would be provoked in that situation. If whatever was provoking them isn't considered reasonable, then it's considered murder.
For example:
You come home, and find your father has beaten the shit out your mother. You go into a rage, and attack him with a knife with the intent to kill him, and do so - Voluntary Manslaughter.
Uh, isn't that second degree murder? I thought manslaughter is when you've assaulted someone without the intent to kill them, but they die anyway? I guess that would be involuntary manslaughter?

Yes but shooting someone in the head twice isnt involuntary :downs:
>implying I go to bars or am even of age to be in one
It's funny because you're probably 12.
Very fucked up shit.
there needs to be a special place for homophobes.
a place where it's mandatory to get anally raped.
Oh wait.
Point is, even if they have different point of views doesn't mean you should kill them.

Yes, then the justice system would be so much better!

that's a common misconception actually. "homo" in Greek means "same" but "man" in Latin. and since it's followed by "phobia," you know that the Greek definition is used since Greek uses "ph" rather than "f." so homphobia is roughly defined as "a strong aversion/antipathy to the same," which in the context of sexuality translates to "a strong aversion/antipathy to the same sex (homosexuals)."
sorry for sperging
