They went against a convention, what kinda reaction did you expect? This isn't Uruguay playing the noble drug lord hero.
Why's everyone jumping on that one line with the alcohol comparison either? It's a slippery slope, not a justification.

I think the primary reason is due to a little historical event known as alcohol prohibition. All the same arguments leading to the end of alcohol prohibition apply to marijuana prohibition, yet while everyone seems to agree that one was a failed policy the other is still in place.
I would say that's more subjective than anything. I get somewhat hyped and thoughtful during and after consumption.
And I don't think that takes into consideration the way people enter a high or a buzz. THC usually just amplifies emotions or moods that were already present to begin with; and considering the fact that most people end up consuming in the evening they're obviously going to get very tired.
So if im really horny and i like smoke some of that stuff, will i get a painful erection and an unstoppable desire to have sex?

Getting tired is one of the most common side-effects of weed and in particular comedowns. This is supported by objective fact, massive release of melatonin during the high making you feel tired. Melatonin by itself is also prescribed as a sleep-aid, so I wouldn't say this is (fully) subjective. Though there absolutely are other factors affecting its effectiveness as a sleep-aid for an individual, the same goes for many sleep-aids and I still believe it could be (and is) branded as such.

you'll get priapism and your cock will rot off.
It's almost like they have some kind of religious faith going on in their rejection of rational policy
Honestly completely surprised and baffled at how many people still seem to possess completely warped views on cannabis in 2013.
It shows the power of 50+ years of drug war propaganda.

Sexual arousal is not an emotion in the same sense, there is both a physical and psychological aspect. However your mental feelings will likely be enhanced and personally cannabis makes me feel very "loving" in a friendly or romantic sense, no matter how I was feeling before.
