I remember when this first came around and everyone was freaking out over it, I ended up getting a fever but I'm pretty sure it wasn't swine flu, however my Mam freaked out and so did the Pharmacist because he prescribed me Swine Flu tablets....I'm still fairly certain it wasn't Swine Flu though because it felt like an ordinary cold to me

You stay home for 2 weeks (going to the doctor is probably going to cause more damage than staying at home most of the time), and get better over time. Provided you didn't catch something else in which case you're in for a really rough ride. I was just aiming at how people and mostly the media overdramaticize the whole thing. Some people just took it as a personal attack; While some people just seemed to think i was implying i don't care about people getting sick. Seriously?

I had swine flu during the first outbreak. It isn't that bad to be honest. I just had fevers and general achyness/no energy for a whole week.

the thing about h1n1 is that it is that the spanish flu was a h1n1 strain. so anytime you see it pop up you have to be pretty worried since it's possible for it to mutate into a strain that can be as deadly as spanish flu.
