Do they really want to block a site that has been known to organize large protests?
I feel a lawsuit coming on...
I pretty much never go to /b/ but I go to 4chans other boards. And it's good I live in Sweden we don't have shit like this :clint:
There's a bunch of sites blacklisted by the swedish gubbament you know
When you sign up for an ISP you agree to their contract. If you don't like what you're paying for, simple don't pay.
When you sign up for an ISP you agree to their contract. If you don't like what you're paying for, simple don't pay.
Problem is, AT&T has a monopoly on high speed (lol) internet in a lot of areas, and the only alternative is some unheard of ISP with even shittier service and even slower speeds that just piggybacks off of AT&T's network. Kind of complicates things when you look at it like that, doesn't it? [editline]10:17AM[/editline]
You people are missing the gist of it. Certain areas ONLY have a certain ISP that services it. What do you do if that ISP you're forced into using is a censorship asshole? (and don't say "just don't use the internet hurr")
People aren't missing it, they're just not reading I think.
I have AT&T and /b/ works fine...
Why don't they just get a VPN? Problem solved.
If the government chooses to block a website, I don't see that as a problem, but it should not be the right of a private corporation to choose what people see and cannot see.
I'd say it's a lot worse if the government blocked something.
Why don't they just get a VPN? Problem solved.
Not that easy to do.
itt: this pisses me off but I'm to lazy to do a single thing about it, so I'll just bitch some more when stuff like this happens. or: I don't care if they censor that page, was a shit place anyways, censorship is ok as long as I don't like what they're censoring.
Looks like they unblocked it. I guess we win?
I'm just the messenger, sure nothing of value was lost but you need to look at the bigger picture, online censorship has begun in the United States and this is the top dog, once they take /b/ out, nothing will stop them from doing whatever they please.
They called me paranoid, but they'll see. :derp:

This isn't good. I know /b/ isn't the best place on the internet but we can't let this go any further. But I'm British and AT&T are American, I can't do anything.
AT&T, do you know what you've started?
I have full respect for AT&T now.

It ended earlier today btw.
I have full respect for AT&T now.
http://www.slideshare.net/total/holocaust-poetry #5 maybe you'll stop pretending like this is good just because you didn't like the fucking website
unblocked.. lol it was probably just an error.
unblocked.. lol it was probably just an error.
Some anti 4-channer that works there probably blocked it for lulz.
Some anti 4-channer that works there probably blicked it for lulz.
The scary part is, that makes way too much sense.
I have full respect for AT&T now.
Guess where is going to be next once they go full throttle.
They came first for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a protestant. Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left to speak up.

4CHAN WAS BLOCKED BECAUSE IT BEING CONSTANTLY DDOS'D WAS SCREWING WITH AT&T'S NETWORK Not because of any conspiracy horseshit. http://mailman.nanog.org/pipermail/nanog/2009-July/012198.html
How much do you want to bet that they would do the same to CNN, Amazon or one of the many popular internet sites owned by large corporations? You aren't going to know for sure either way what actually happened.
unblocked.. lol it was probably just an error.
We have always been at war with Eurasia.
The scary part is, that makes way too much sense.
Yet another danger of having the technical means to block any web site, service, or protocol.
Looks like they are taking a page out of China's book
Not that easy to do.
https://www.steganos.com/us/products/overview/ Sorry I can't hear you over how wrong you are.
This is not a bad thing.

And millions of /b/tards unsubscribe to AT&T
