It's begun, net neutrality is upon us.
Net neutrality and stuff.
Question for the wannabe lawyers of the site: Isn't this grounds for a lawsuit? People go to a website, view/click ads, and the revenue from those ads keeps the site running. So, isn't an ISP cutting off access to a website the same thing as Wal-Mart sending it's employees across the street to build a wall across the entrance to someone else's business? This is nothing less than physically preventing people from accessing a website, and in the world of regular business, it's highly illegal to physically keep people from physically entering a place of business.
I'm hoping some ISP will pop up sooner or later offering cheap, fast speeds with no censorship. They'll have a fucking ton of customers converting, and they'll quickly be rolling in the dough whilst other ISPs crash and burn. It's a tactical strategy that would put them at the top in no time.
AT&T is about to lose a lot of customers. Didn't they think this through?
how would they lose customers? i'm sure if the parents that have AT&T won't listen to there children just because there favorite website is inaccessible.
AT&T? Moer leik... nah, I got nothin'.

I didn't look at it like that.
a forum filled with 15 year-olds?
Post that somewhere that isn't Facepunch and you might have a valid point there...
My fursona is a dolphin. [editline]01:45AM[/editline] shit wrong thread
how would they lose customers? i'm sure if the parents that have AT&T won't listen to there children just because there favorite website is inaccessible.
Believe it or not, this is actually not about 4chan at all whatsoever, it's about AT&T sticking their middle finger up their customers asses. That includes those "parents" that you just spoke of, it also includes the 18 year old kid that just moved into his dorm, it also includes the hardworking 35 year old that lives across from you. Again like I said, 4chan is top dog, the only people who might actually retaliate are 4chan users and once they're out, they can go down the list and eventually create their little package deals which would basically be a flag on your account that you pay fourty dollars for that says "You can visit these thirty websites, enjoy!"
AT&T? Moer leik... nah, I got nothin'.
moar liek GayT&T, amirite?
http://img.4chan.org/b/res/148758096.html Lol.
God dammit, I can't look at it. SCREW YOU AT&SHIT
4Chan is fucking useless piece of shit, however it pisses me off. I purchased the internet so I could visit the sites people have made... What stops AT&T from blocking anything else? I have AT&T and I just tried /b/ can't go there. I agree /b/ is retarded, but the principal of the matter pisses me off.
I just love how nobody gives a fuck about /b/ being blocked, I'm going to laugh when they filter out other offensive websites, say..OIFY?
I'm an at&t customer, you insensitive clod.
Same, this is fucking stupid. While I may have not visited the Random and ROBOT9000 boards very often, censorship of the internet is retarded.

Also, back to the 4chan hate wagon... arguing amongst ourselves about whether /b/ or even 4chan as a whole even constitute intelligent life only takes away from the real issue here, which is net neutrality.
Update from Moot: It's come to our attention that AT&T is filtering/blocking img.4chan.org (/b/ & /r9k/) for many of their customers. There is no remedy at this time. If you've been affected, I would advise you call or write customer support and corporate immediately.
Same, this is fucking stupid. BUT I COULDN'T LOAD THE PAGE. Some dick queers decided to block it. WAY TO GO AT&T.
Nah, I'll just wait until they block something worthwhile... then we're fucked.
It's not fucking censorship. It's called an ISP doing something sensible. EDIT: Dumb? Do you seriously want to be kicked around by a forum filled with 15 year-olds? I'm surprised they didn't block the whole site.
Censorship is never sensible. [editline]09:13PM[/editline] Censorship represents irrational fear of something in the face of the inability to actually stop it.
I'm on at&t and I can still access it.

You people don't understand precedence. If this is deemed acceptable, there is very little stopping ISP's from blocking pornography sites, political sites, or any site that preaches information in contradiction to the ISP's advantage. It is the first step toward corporate regulation of morality. It's no different than Chinese censorship, only instead of a government doing the censoring it is an international corporation. Not that this is a threat. If this takes off, there WILL be an ISP that offers full service, and people WILL flock to it.
i can't believe people voted for this guy to become GD mod. click da image
Funfact, AT&T has 15.5% of all internet users in the united states, or 32.1-38.2 million people.
