If an adult runs a food truck selling lemonade is he also exempt from public food safety regulations in your eyes? Is it because they're kids, or because they're selling lemonade, or what? If they're going to have exceptions to food safety laws, they need to be spelled out in what is obviously an ill-conceived city ordnance, not left to the local police to selectively enforce.

how about we just make a free online quiz that teaches kids food safety and when they complete the free quiz they can print out a special permit for lemonade stands and the like

They should just amend the law so that kids can run these kinds of businesses without hastle. I honestly don't want to see any random guy starting his own food stand without proper food handling, etc.

I don't know what to say about this but it seems like you can't really do anything you wanted to do anymore in some to most states now. Seems like they kind of being a little bit too strict with children with laws and such.
