Toy Story 4's storyline will be a love story centered around Woody and Bo Peep

Is this going to be one of these movies where we all go like "We don't speak about that one.."

Toy Story Unchained
Can we get one of those lowball animation companies to make a straight-to-DVD version of this?
Listen, I honestly trust John Lasseter. If he thinks that this one is good, then shit, maybe it's good. I get the hate and I agree that TS3 ended in literal perfection, but Lasseter is more or less a genius. He seems pretty genuine about how he feels about the story, so maybe it'll be good.
Either way, they don't consider it part of the original trilogy, but rather, a new story.

Tbh they should've given it a different title. Toy Story Revelations or some shit
I can agree with that. Toy Story 4 is way too direct. But then we run into that whole numbering issue in the future. It could be called something entirely different, like, "Woody" or "Woody and Bo" since TS has always been a little more about the toys rather than Woody alone.
I have no clue how they are going to do this without it being a Prequel. Not only is Bo absent from Toy Story 3 entirely except for 1 mention in the beginning of the movie but the movie ended on a tight lid. I hope to god this is just a ploy for more views on ABC instead of it being an actual thing.

he's pretty well capable of fucking up horribly

you mean the one movie compared to the 10+ other great pixar movies
Besides, it's obvious that Disney goaded them in to it
how dare they make a continuation to toy story after toy story 3

The thing what annoys me is that this is Toy Story 4, that means that it follows up 3 which ended fucking perfectly.

Pretty sure this one may be a prequel and not a follow up.

Then it would make even more sense to give it a different title.

Actually it was something he always wanted to do, not really something Disney forced him to do.

These aren't really continuations so much as they are small glimpses. Sure you see Bonnie's family and the toys in the future, but the story is mostly focused on the little adventures the toys are having on their own. They're self-contained and don't really involve the whole over-arching theme of growing up, and there isn't much major change for the characters.
That's fine for what they are, but this is an entire movie with a premise that still feels very "small". The whole idea worries me, but I'll wait for more details before I dismiss it.

You can't really compare small stories to a full feature film. It's not nearly as serious first off and everyone acknowledges that it's just extra tidbits for fans to enjoy. It's an entirely different story if it's a full on sequel.
Yes Toy Story 3 ended perfectly but given that the last thing we had was perfection, maybe you should all stop being so cynical and give it a chance? The toys (Woody especially) were sad that they'd lost Bo over the years and for all we know a reunion could wrap things up even better.
can we have some more buzz lightyear things
tim barely had any lines in toy story 3

Eh? He was a pretty substantial character, what with him being the one to win over Jessie instead of Woody. :v:
At first I didn't know what to think about this, but now with that story description I have a really bad feeling about this.
This really feels like an unnecessary continuation.
I just ignored the short films that came out after Toy Story 3.
As long as it's a prequel, I'm cool with it. I'll see it.
The short films were really good though. They're just (at least the one I saw) little shenanigans that took place after the events of TS3, like they went to a hotel and Mr. Potatohead got lost.
Short films were best...They felt like it was still the toys and had continuity nods. Hell Al Mcwiggen was supposed to appear in Toy Story of Terror.

Was he really? Aw, that would've been funny to see. It reminds me of how Sid had a subtle cameo in Toy Story 3 as a Garbage man.
For me, Anything after Toy Story 3 i consider non canon.
You'll probably change your mind if its an amazing sequel.
why is everyone so angry about this? it's obviously a prequel, pretty sure they know just as much as we do how perfect toy story 3 ended.

Yeah but for the majority of the film [sp]he was in Spanish mode.[/sp]
remember when everyone said toy story 3 was gonna suck
same thing is going to happen here
i was at D23 for the toy story 20th anniversary panel and all of the crew seemed super excited about what's coming for Toy Story 4, and I have full faith in Pixar and Lasseter; Pixar wouldn't fuck up the series that made them what they are today. talk about Cars all you want, but everyone knows the Cars movies are Lasseter's baby, and he makes them because he loves the series, and merchandising SOLELY from Cars is what is enabling Pixar to continue funding original animated movies.

I see this as the case with Dreamworks and the Dragons movie series; they're made possible by their other films raking in the money.
this is so stupid. they're toys damn it.
