• UK Parliament approves raising tuition fees cap to £9,000

So excuse me for being incredibly ignorant, but this law means that the max tuition for college is £9000? That's... ehm, pretty damn cheap in America. $15000 dollars is on the lower end of the spectrum... Unless I'm missing the point entirely, which is possible.
As I said in that other thread, I went there. Got pictures. For example they 'randomly' searched an arab photographer under the terrorism act, didn't bring/couldn't find a medic to a girl having a seizure (she'd been kettled without her drugs). In short, I feel it's fucked up how the police handled the situation
Ooh, nice pics.

So glad I went to uni this year, not going to take it for granted at all.

The police said, "We tried 'kettling' the protesters, but that obviously did not work. When you're subject to hours of abuse like the police were, it's hard to fully take control of the situation; these were not protesters, there were violent thugs. A full criminal investigation will take place over the violence towards police officers" [editline]10th December 2010[/editline]
So excuse me for being incredibly ignorant, but this law means that the max tuition for college is £9000? Regardless, people in the UK are used to a semi-socialist state. Now we have retardedly voted in some right-wing political party who is undoing all of the good socialist work we had done over the past 60 years.
I have to pay $18k to go to school. Fuck you England. Though you guys sure do know how to riot.
1: so what if its more expensive in america? The point is, we are not in america, and for some reason we'd rather not pay an extra 6000 quid for our education. 2: living cost in america is cheaper. 3: shut up and let us riot in peace.
http://liberalconspiracy.org/2010/11/26/new-sky-video-raises-questions-about-met-baitvan/ Now tell me that it's unfair to take things out on the police when they stand in your way.
Haha the police using their old tactics again... There was a similar case with a burning police car a few months ago, i think it was here in germany. Not sure though. Things like this really show how the government (or whoever is behind those events) plans in advance to manipulate a mass of people and make them look bad.
I find it funny how people are not blaming labour for this when they kicked off all our dept way back when thatcher was in power, and now they want labour back when all the coalition is doing it putting right labours fuck ups. I am not happy about it... they are doing the wrong thing but they would not have to do it if not for labour... don't be so ignorant people... most of you are 14 so you will not understand, the scottish, welsh... most northerners back labour because they made it so you get the best pay if you work for the government which pretty much all northerners do, that finished off our exports... things got worse, people blame the wrong party.. they made it so that English cannot get into scottish parliament or change anything up there but they can come and mess up England (brown style), The whole system is a mess

Seems like you're blaming the entirety of this country's problems on the north, which in turn makes it sound like you're blaming the working-classes, which in turn only strengthens the north-south divide and the raging class war we have right now. And can you fuck blame Labour for everything that's going on now. Look around you. Look at the countries of the world that aren't affected by the economic downturn right now; they're all communist. This is a worldwide thing that no one political party can take blame for. The fault lies primarily in the neo-capitalist banking system that seems to pretty much rule the world right now.
Looks like I won't be going to University. :sigh: There goes the rest of my education.
Get angry about it and rabble like everyone else over there at the moment? :v:
Its hard enough getting a job nowadays as it is and its now going to get worse what with alot of students dropping out of or not going to university. Good job coalition government you manage to fuck the country over faster than anyone in history.
I wonder what would happen if a student sneaked into the parliament, climbed to the top and started to fly a anarchist flag or something.
I miss Gordon.
Yeah lets go back to living above our means and ending up in a shit financial condition :downs: Why the fuck should the tax payer pay for my education? The loans are increasing, I don't see the problem. This is coming from a UK uni student by the way.
Yeah well the Irish government just voted to take money from the widow's and blind pensions while they are on 90,000-250,000 salaries. :rolleye: The world is fucked i tell yah.
I wonder what would happen if a student sneaked into the parliament, climbed to the top and started to fly a anarchist flag or something.
They'd get removed from the property by security in a very boring way and would face humiliation in the public eye as the idiot they are.
I wonder what would happen if a student sneaked into the parliament, climbed to the top and started to fly a anarchist flag or something.
Arrests and cheering.
Wow, really wish I hadn't failed my first year of 6th form, I could've escaped.
Be lucky it was 6th form. I'm doing my first year of uni again, because I changed my course. That's another few grand down the drain. Fucking fuck.
Why the fuck should the tax payer pay for my education?
Are you suggesting it should all be private? :raise:
UUH not its not
A+ counter argument. You can't seriously think that loaning the students the money they need for tuition is the same as just giving the universities the money and not wanting it back at any point?
Are you suggesting it should all be private? :raise:
Don't worry, I don't get him either.
Are you suggesting it should all be private? :raise:
I think that compulsary education should be the extent of the taxpayers burden.
so you get the best pay if you work for the government which pretty much all northerners do
You obviously do not know much about the north then - you have a skewed perception of reality. It's people like you that mean if a northerner goes down to the south for whatever reason if they so much as open their mouths a handful of people will turn their nose up at you. I was born a southerner but have lived up north through a lot of my childhood and there is nothing better about the north or the south. I have to agree with ChestyMcGee on the 16 years old, Daily Mail reader sentiment.
Don't worry, I don't get him either.
Wow, yet another cutting remark with no substance. Well done.
A+ counter argument. The government takes your money and spends half of it on stupid shit, then it cuts out the good stuff so it can spend it on more stupid shit.
Wow, yet another cutting remark with no substance. Well done.
thank you i try my best
