Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare pre-orders are very low

The game's cover is the profile of a soldier with reflective goggles and a skull mask over his face. It's pretty hard to misinterpret that.
I don't think they will ever be able to top being nuked to death.
I shit you not, it was the first thing I thought of when I first saw the announcement for Call of Duty: Ghosts, This is totally based off of Ghost from MW2.
It was not very subtle and seems terribly obvious that IW was banking on it. For a studio that appears to take risks for the franchise, it also falls back to previous conventions to ensure dominant sales.
God damn.
They don't really take risks imo.
Treyarch seems to take the biggest risks. BO1 was a HUGE risk imo, and so was BO2. Not in terms of story, but in terms of multiplayer They redid the secondaries, they nerfed the snipers and some abilities, even removing stuff like commando, they introduced more fun weapons and ways to play the game...
Infinity Ward pretty much copied and pasted MW2 and changed a few things, and completely dropped the ball on Ghosts.
Seriously, Treyarch's cod games are just so much better. I still love MW2 and MW1 to bits, but pretty much all the Black Ops games are great.
(great in a CoD kind of way, not when compared to other games)

Well yes, but I seriously expect something other than "you are part of an elite squadron called Ghosts"
That's just soo dull, not to mention edgily cringey. Makes me laugh almost as much as whenever any character automatically says shit like "CAN CONFIRM" or "TRANSITIONING" when killing someone or reloading.
Does anyone even ever say shit like that?

Orbital laser cannoned to death.
Ghost was popular primarily from his appearance.
That's it.
I thought it was his voice. That's why I liked his character anyway.
to be honest, if i wanted to play cod in space; I'd play[sp]halo.[/sp]

...which plays nothing like COD.

Eh. Anytime-use sprint and smart scope for iron sights have basically closed the gap a little. Halo 4's multiplayer ripped off CoD in various ways too, but they dialed that stupidity back for 5. Principally they're still very different series, especially with how Halo encourages dodging enemy fire in singleplayer (and actual enemy variety with various strategies, mix-ups and roles) compared to Call of Duty teaching you to avoid taking bullets to the face and not stick your head out for too long. Yet the series still remains the not-Killzone alternative to Call of Duty, even if it's not annual.
They have clearly dabbled in modern FPS tropes but when you play the games they don't really feel similar.
Considering the lack of success Epic Games has with the new Unreal Tournament and the dozens of others trying to make battle arena shooters popular again while failing miserably. You'd wonder why they are even continuously trying at all.
Yet, Halo seemed to survive rather well. During the "neigh to battle arena shooters" period we're going through. But, then again Halo's success is most likely attributed to it being the first profilic shooter on the Xbox. Less than where it's roots are from.
Unreal Tournament hasn't been released yet, it's an open-source alpha test. Once they actually market and sell it, it could end up being relatively successful. UT3 was pretty well received by my memory, it just had a shitty matchmaking system so the multiplayer died off. Last I played UT4, that shouldn't be an issue.
Sunglasses and skull mask?
ofc
While his personality was basically Gaz 2.0, I think his appearance is what won kids over. His Xbox Live avatar outfit is one of the top 10 best selling.
Why do you think fucking IW made that shitty Ghosts game based around a bunch of dudes with the skull masks? They were trying to capitalize on the appearance.
Gaz 2.0 to the point where it's the same fucking voice actor.
Most of them probably bought it because CoD4 is bundled. Why can't they sell it separately
Wow, people are tired of buying the same game 10+ times? I don't get why ! :downs:

You just answered your own question.
