Aren't there pretty harsh consequences to actually shooting someone in self defense except in extreme circumstances?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Doctrine_in_the_United_States#Stand-your-ground Read up. Arizona has that. [editline]10:25PM[/editline]
What are Arizona's laws regarding concealed carry while intoxicated?
According to this police officer it is legal to possess a firearm while intoxicated: http://www.realpolice.net/forums/ask-cop-112/92549-how-can-i-get-my-personal-weapon-back.html#post1072179
Idea: make someone take a CC course before they can carry concealed. I have no problem with well-educated people carrying concealed weapons - if you know when and how to use it, then you have every right in the world to carry it.
Lets look at the pros and cons of needing a permit. In this scenario lets say the robber has a knife. 1. Robber noticed you down the street, plans to threaten and steal from you. 2. He notices the gun at your hip, so instead he sneaks up, kills you and takes your money. 1. Robber notices you down the street, doesn't see a gun, so he approaches and threatens you. 2. *BANG* 3. You win. New scenario. In this scenario a band of gang members are going to shoot you. 1. The gang members see your gun, take cover and begin to fire. Possibly killing many innocents in the process. 1. The gang members harass you before doing the deed, and as their busy talking. 2. *BANG* 3. You win. There is no downside to not needing a permit because the bad guys will do it anyway. Guns are good for people. There was a small town in the East (might have been Michigan ) I heard about that made it a law for every home to contain at least one firearm..........the crime rate dropped %75.
What kind of fucked up fantasy world do you live in?
Well you do have to prove yourself, but within reasonable bounds which surely you understand.
No, you don't. If you are not an felon the government cannot stop you. Like I said, even if their background checks take too long you can still buy a gun.

Like I said, even if their background checks take too long you can still buy a gun.
There's more to it than just felonies. Under the GCA, firearms possession by certain categories of individuals is prohibited. 1. Anyone who has been convicted in a federal court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, excluding crimes of imprisonment that are related to the regulation of business practices. 2. Anyone who has been convicted in a state court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding two years, excluding crimes of imprisonment that are related to the regulation of business practices. 3. Anyone who is a fugitive from justice. 4. Anyone who is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance. 5. Anyone who has been adjudicated as a mental defective or has been committed to a mental institution. 6. Any alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States or an alien admitted to the United States under a non-immigrant visa. Aliens who have a tourist visa or student visa may possess guns if they have a current, valid hunting license. 7. Anyone who has been discharged under dishonorable conditions from the United States armed forces. 8. Anyone who, having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced his or her citizenship. 9. Anyone that is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner. (added 1996) 10. Anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence (added in 1996 by the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban, or "Lautenberg Amendment.")

Ownership of a firearm is a right. Something is NOT a right if you are FORCED to do it. Going to prison is not a right. Paying taxes is not a right.
But just regarding the gun. Why does a law abiding citizen carrying a gun make you feel uncomfortable?
Anyone carrying a gun makes me uncomfortable. They are dangerous weapons and I don't know how many people are responsible owners.
Anyone carrying a gun makes me uncomfortable. They are dangerous weapons and I don't know how many people are responsible owners.
Every time I see a woman in the driver's seat I feel uncomfortable. Doesn't change anything from a legal standpoint.
And the teen suicide rate goes up by 200%.
Uh, no. More responsible law abiding citizens having guns in a household doesn't mean the teen suicide rate goes up by 200%. That gun law is downright unconstitutional.
That gun law is downright unconstitutional.
Hahaha, yeah, but it's also funny as hell. It wouldn't be funny if they actually enforced the law or even had a penalty for violating it, but they don't. So it's funny.
Hahaha, yeah, but it's also funny as hell. It wouldn't be funny if they actually enforced the law or even had a penalty for violating it, but they don't. So it's funny.
It's not that funny.
Every time I see a woman in the driver's seat I feel uncomfortable. Doesn't change anything from a legal standpoint.
I know, I conceded to that a couple posts back.
Anyone carrying a gun makes me uncomfortable. If the person next to me is an ex-cop packing heat, I'd feel more comfortable - they know what they're doing.

I won't be able to know which dude carrying a gun is responsible or not.
You sound like you are not very old at all.
you're 12, you couldn't possible judge someone's age
What are Arizona's laws regarding concealed carry while intoxicated?
This law was originally brought up to allow you to have a holstered six shot in bars. (Not sure... )

But you don't have to if you don't want to."
Its a hypothetical scenario, meaning not real.
Hypothetical scenarios are supposed to represent real dangers.
Cool, people can shoot places up easier. P.S. 666 posts, I'm evil.
That's a horrible thing to say.
