It might have been overshadowed by his birther stunt but yeah, saying that Clinton's security detail should disarm so we could "see what would happen" and that it would be "very dangerous" is unprecedented in American politics. Probably because, as Olberman points out, we have have had so many politicians and public figures shot in our history. I haven't seen any Trump supporters encourage it but they do ignore it or, when they do have to confront it, attempt to spin the truth and take his comments out of context. eg his comments regarding second amendment people stopping Clinton from appointing judges.

I didn't spin anything. I said the article had a bit of both.

I have a controversial opinion of Trump in that I don't think he's literally Hitler, just a fucking idiot. But rationalism must prevail, we can't go off the deep end in the other direction. Call bullshit out when you see it on both sides.

Also if I had to spin that I'd spin it by saying Trump never actually said that. There was a potential implication but we'll never know if he meant it or just stuttered and people filled in the gap themselves.
