I'm a good gamer and I always buy my games, but even if you pirate games, pirating Valve game IS SIN. [editline]07:36PM[/editline] where the hell is the edit button
Long known truth.
And to not overprice them. *poke poke* MW2
Next step; Valve needs to tell a certain company to shut the fuck up for saying blockbuster games should cost more.
Valve should start buying other companies and setting them right.
And to not overprice them. *poke poke* MW2
Yeah, other companies should take a good look at Valve and what they're doing. I mean, come on, they sold 5 awesome games in a pack just for $50.00! COME ON! THAT'S A DEAL.
It's pretty hard to pirate Valve's content since everything is linked to Steam, and you'd be hardpressed to find stand-alone versions of Valve's games. Plus if you want online games like CS:S or TF2, you have to figure out how to get past VAC, which is by far, the most sophisticated anti-cheat, anti-hack system every designed, other than the ones for Arma.
When Valve states the obvious, it makes them look cooler.
Indeed. Sometimes that which is obvious is occult to those with unclear sight. Valve has pure sight, and they see the obvious that some devs cannot see for all the clouds.

The Chinese get around everything. Seriously. I guarantee it'll be the east asians who first crack Blu-Ray.
This is true. Not once have I EVER thought of pirating a Valve game. It's never crossed my mind. However, this is not the case with other developers.
EA...
EA...
:downsbravo:
I've never felt the urge to download a game to be honest.. the only time I would ever consider it was if the game was getting poor reviews. Valve are correct though, as usual.
this thread must be delicious for the mods.. picking off the noobs one by one who speak of wares lol
Blah blah Episode 1 but then something Orange Box.
Where do games like Braid fit in to this notion, where they offer little or no post purchase 'service'
Next step; Valve needs to tell a certain company to shut the fuck up for saying blockbuster games should cost more.
And Activision would turn around, laugh at Valve, shit out some more money then release a few more games in between the time it takes Valve to make one Episode. [editline]04:18PM[/editline]
Where do games like Braid fit in to this notion, where they offer little or no post purchase 'service'
Artsy fartsy games aren't exactly the best sellers, especially with "OGM Y $15/?/1/1/111" that braid had.
This is true. Not once have I EVER thought of pirating a Valve game. It's never crossed my mind. However, this is not the case with other developers.
Same here. Even though I don't pirate games to begin with, it has crossed my mind in some cases but never once did I think about pirating a Valve game. They deserve the money.
this thread is hilarious
"Activision and EA won't release games they can't "exploit" everyyear, and everything after release you have to PAY for. Things like maps and updates that used to be free, now cost more than the game cumulatively." True
This is like "The secret to being slim? Exercise and eat right!" compared to "The secret to being slim? Try my fancy diet(tm)!" - damned obvious, but hard to pull off.
This is about as wrong as saying Gabe isn't fat.
Damn right. I know I could have gotten Half-Life Ep1, and Ep2 by... other means, but I didn't. I bought them, because Valve is awesome, and so are their games.
This man speaks the truth.
This is true. Not once have I EVER thought of pirating a Valve game. It's never crossed my mind. However, this is not the case with other developers.
Quoted for Truth
Pac-Steam/No-Steam + QQ = online gaming. The Chinese get around everything. Seriously. I guarantee it'll be the east asians who first crack Blu-Ray.
Blu-Ray's been cracked for a long time, now
I'll put it this way. Some companies deserve money, other don't. Like EA. I'm not saying you should pirate they're games. I'm just saying that they suck.

Even if I could pirate Valve's games and play them online successfully I wouldn't. Valve has earned my money.
This is true. Not once have I EVER thought of pirating a Valve game. It's never crossed my mind. However, this is not the case with other developers.
Well...this
This is true. Not once have I EVER thought of pirating a Valve game. It's never crossed my mind. However, this is not the case with other developers.
The only time I have ever thought about pirating a valve game, is if I have literally no money. I am legally in poverty, and buying games is hard when you have to eat and clothe yourself as well.
Not only are Valve games well made, they have a system that advertises their games, makes them easier to get a hold of, and everyone who plays their games has to use it. It's foolproof.
