I don't want to see that atrocious trash again, and the probability they will use that keeps me absolutely without any positive anticipation.
it wasn't "atrocious trash" it was ok and needed a different physics module
Fallout wouldn't work outside of the US, a big part of the game is American culture.
A big part of previous fallout games was american culture.
A big part of previous fallout games was american culture.
Isn't that what he just said?
Isn't that what he just said?
He was implying that it doesn't have to be the case for all fallout games
it wasn't "atrocious trash" it was ok and needed a different physics module
Combat in it is droningly boring and unfun, AI in it is a thing of nightmares and it doesn't break any technological milestones with how forcibly instanced it is. The engine has virtually no redeemable features.
I liked Fallout 3 more than New Vegas. Fight me
it doesn't feel like you're moving like a person in Bethesda games... it just feels like you're an object that's emulating a person, rather than a person you can really 'feel' the character in other games, but not at all in those games... its just so unnatural... especially since you go STRAIGHT OUTWARD and fall at a PREDEFINED SPEED when on anything steep. You're just a person for pretend. There are no proper calculations for different fall heights where you fall from 5 feet it'll feel like 5 feet, 10 feet it'll feel like 10 feet... its just... you landed. It's so... static, and awkward. Combat doesn't flow nearly like it should in other games, everything is just too statically generic. Skyrim is amazingly atmospheric and yet often times very bland and... off. It's like a "Good" television show that tries way too hard to be a television show, instead of being the adventures of a space captain and her crew, lost in the gamma quadrant... or a young legendary warlock that must protect Prince Arthur without revealing how powerful he really is.
This is quite possibly the best explanation anyone has every worded in regards to the combat in Fallout 3, Skyrim etc.
I liked Fallout 3 more than New Vegas. Fight me
Although I disagree with your opinion I respect it an hope that you too respect mine. Happy gaming, friend.
I really hope the story and setting is presented in the same way as fallout new Vegas and not like fallout 3. dont get me wrong, i really enjoyed fallout 3, but the way fallout new vegas tied in with the older fallout games, let you side with whatever faction you wanted, reacted to the choices you made and the people you had surrounded yourself with, and gave you the idea there was more to post-apocalyptic america than just the wasteland you were currently wandering around, was just so freaking good. if they do it in a similar way to new vegas i wont even care if it runs on the same engine as skyrim.
This is quite possibly the best explanation anyone has every worded in regards to the combat in Fallout 3, Skyrim etc.
more on the difference of 3 VS NV
I have high hopes for Fallout 4, it will be the reason I either buy a next generation console or upgrade my computer.
Whatever it is, I hoped they learned from their mistakes. And for god sake, Please fucking fill up your cities. I was hoping for this: [img_thumb]http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100504194155/fallout/images/f/f7/FNV_concept_art_Vegas_Skyline.jpg[/img_thumb] But got this: [img_thumb]http://images.wikia.com/fallout/images/archive/3/31/20110306184351!NewVegasStrip.jpg[/img_thumb] Fucking hell the first thing I did was to travel to that Strip, hoping that it'll be populated and lively. I was so damn disappointed.
I know. I'd love another fallout with a city the size of Fallout 3 DC but then filled instead of invis walls.
Updated sourcecode include Bethesdas youtube channel [t]http://puu.sh/5iivM.png[/t]
Although I disagree with your opinion I respect it an hope that you too respect mine. Happy gaming, friend.
Congrats on being part of the 10% of Facepunchers that doesn't think their opinion is fact.
11.12.13 is a bible reference, btw.
Thinking about it, FO3 had a fair share of bible quotes. Remember the "this was your mothers favourite bible quote: alpha and omega. The beggining, and the end" line at the start? I think this further helps that point along IMO. Edit: here's a link: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Zechariah+11%3A12-13&version=NIV
Updated sourcecode include Bethesdas youtube channel [t]http://puu.sh/5iivM.png[/t]
Also note the commented out file referring to Fall River, which is in Massachusetts. Same area of the US as Bridgeport, but a pretty big distance between the two. Maybe we'll get some form of travel, or perhaps even a huge world. First would probably be more likely, though.
A big part of previous fallout games was american culture.
And it will be a big part of future games as long as the developers have the slightest idea what they're doing.
Either fake or perhaps they just registered the domain for the sake of no one else taking it.
man, a massachusetts fallout would kick so much ass i mean, i live in the state so i'm super biased, but who fucking wouldn't want to play a fallout type game set in their own backyard?
And it will be a big part of future games as long as the developers have the slightest idea what they're doing.
You say that as if you're the lead writer for Fallout.
from the source code: <!-- European RTMP Server 5.131.13.121 American RTMP Server 199.107.64.171 --> go to 199.107.64.171 in your webbrowser: http://bethsoft.com/age also the name of the audio file is "bridgeport-5284ec0d1b93c.mp3" bridgeport means nothing to me, does it mean anything to you? one more thing, i'm not 100% sure but the source code of the website seems to store cookies on your computer, and then check the age of those cookies each time you connect. There's some obfuscation at the part that says what it should do if the cookie "mature" This could just be standard cookie stuff to check if it expired and give you a new one, but hey maybe not right! --- fallout.js and "css/css.css" are not currently on this domain but they are referenced. The first script is a countdown as we already know. I figure they plan to have whatever fallout.js is added to it's correct location when the countdown ends. The page is already calling for it but its not there, thus the black screen. We shall see!
i think its referring to the company "bridgeport" that makes milling machines obviously
You don't understand anything about the Fallout series, if you want a post apocalyptic game set outside of America Fallout is the wrong series to look at.
This. I love the goofy 50's/60's Americana in the Fallout games, that's what set's them apart as a series.
man, a massachusetts fallout would kick so much ass i mean, i live in the state so i'm super biased, but who fucking wouldn't want to play a fallout type game set in their own backyard?
Not me. It would suck. It would be all about H.C. Andersen and the Muhammed drawings along with serious prejudices and stereotypes mimicking russia because bethesda knows fuck-all about scandinavia. Just listen to all the german accents and pronunciations in Skyrim. Shamefru dispray!
more on the difference of 3 VS NV
The only thing I don't like about MrBTongue is that he said Skyrim was better than Oblivion.
You say that as if you're the lead writer for Fallout.
I say that like someone with the ability to recognise basic themes and motifs.
I've been waiting for too long.
This. I love the goofy 50's/60's Americana in the Fallout games, that's what set's them apart as a series.
Why can't you have a Fallout set in China or Russia that was in the perpetual 50's, because they were a part of Fallout as well but never mentioned or heard of afterwards other than in references to China and the war, and the many Chinese American's living in America afterwards. What happened to the American forces in China? Or the Chinese government? What happened to the people, and the plant and wild life? Was the Soviet Union part of the war in any way and does it exist still(because this is never answered)? Was FEV used in China? All good questions for a Fallout game in China to answer. Know what I want a fucking Fallout set in China now. Don't care.
I really wish people would stop with this shit. Fallout 3 was an great game and Bethesda did an amazing job. Obsidian also did a good job with New Vegas using the tools Bethesda gave them. New Vegas was great and maybe better than 3 but face it, Bethesda did most the work and NV wouldn't exist if 3 didn't.
Beth still would ruin it, I don't see any good argument there. Anything that has been improved in NV over Fallout 3 was done by Obsidian, and just about everything that was flawed in NV had it's roots from 3, where Beth screwed up.
[editline]14th November 2013[/editline] Mobile Fallout. Hmmm. Hmmmmmmm.
I'd kill for a mobile re-release of the first two. Since they're isometric it wouldn't be too bad I'd think.
