Saudi Arabia criticises Norway over human rights record

If believing in Abrahamic religions caused such destruction of human rights, then I'm surprised two thirds of the entire world isn't clawing at everyone's throats.

It's not Islam that did this. The Middle East used to be one of the most progressive places on the planet, hell girls could go outside by themselves in swimsuits in Iran in the 50's. During the cold war both Russia and the US destablized the entire region while playing a giant dick waving war against eachother.

We funded Osama himself for years for Christ's sake.
Yeah Norway, how dare you allow your citizens to live in a free nation and not enact blasphemy laws!

Why suddenly minorities are more important than majorities? I don't get it.
People would find more inventive reasons to kill eachother. What we need is a better society, not a better (or lack of) religion.
removing religion is probably the largest part of moving towards a better society which i noted further up the page
also okay there will be excuses people still invent to cause conflict but it would hardly be possible to convince a sweeping majority of the planet like religion has. its so pervasive its ridiculous, affecting even nonreligious people or converts because they were raised a certain way etc. what we need is massive societal push towards an objective view of the world and the persistence of those religions prevents that from being possible.

In an effort to be more tolerant Norway has embraced Saudi-style Sharia law. Anders Breviks execution by hanging is tomorrow.

Not hanging, beheading. Preferably in public, like they do at Chop Chop square in Riyadh.
