And that was how the thread devolved into everybody making essentially the same post about how appalled they are at this comment.
Not even appalled, more like I got more retarded from reading it. "I wish she did bomb them so Trump fans could have 100x more support for Trump and being anti-muslim"
And that was how the thread devolved into everybody making essentially the same post about how appalled they are at this comment.
But the important thing is you feel smarter than all of them. [editline]9th January 2016[/editline] It's extremely relevant because the point is to condemn that kind of mindset. You shouldn't react to people like Trump with "man, I almost wish his followers would die." It got met with the appropriate reaction of "he's nuts, but don't condone terrorism."
so people's experiences are only valuable if they align with your political beliefs

I didn't see any of that kind of thing when trump came to biloxi. I have a feeling a lot of stories about what happens at trump rallies are exaggerated or downright fabricated.
right...
nope it's a pretty straightforward issue of reasoning backwards from one specific example to the general. there's a video in the OP, there's are a series of credible news sources reporting a widely attended event - not that they're hard to believe in the first place. i'm sure Trump's visit to biloxi was bucolic as shit but that means nothing.
the fact that there's evidence for this incident doesn't change the fact that you used "the world doesn't revolve around you" to discredit someone's first hand experience. if your beliefs are based on any kind of substance then you shouldn't have to resort to such a desperate tactic to dismiss conflicting information. if somebody posted in this thread and said they were at a trump rally and he said some barbaric shit I strongly doubt you would meet them with the same weak rhetoric.
Daily reminder that if you are republican, or vote for trump, you literally deserve to die
Sacrifices have to be made for the good of humanity.
right...
choosing not to trust the media which has made a fortune from their trump smear campaign is different from dismissing anything you hear from individual people that conflicts with your worldview. you have to be pretty fucking naive to believe anything the media says about trump at face value. it's no different from when the conservative media was trying to convince people that Obama is a secret muslim infiltrator.

As they were escorted out, Trump supporters roared -- booing the pair and shouting at them to "get out." One person shouted, "You have a bomb, you have a bomb," according to Hamid.

"There is hatred against us that is unbelievable," Trump said. "It's their hatred, it's not our hatred."
Uhh ok lmfao
Gonna have to spoil a Twilight Zone episode for this so don't read below if you care, but I'm reminded of a Twilight Zone episode called 'He's Alive', the plot of the episode revolves around an American Neo-Nazi who constantly goes on racist tirades on the streets and is ignored, beat up, and sent home crying and insecure to his Jewish friend. Then his life begins to turn around when a mysterious figure, that turns out to be Hitler himself, visits him and begins to give him lessons on how to improve his speeches, to stroke people's fears so they can be turned in to bigotry and hatred, and how to incite mob violence.
Hitler: Let us start by your learning what are the dynamics of a crowd. Hitler: How do you move a mob, Mr. Vollmer? How do you excite them? How do you make them feel as one with you? Vollmer: i don't know. How? Hitler: Join them first, Mr. Vollmer. Vollmer: Join them? Hitler: Yes, when you speak to them, speak to them as if you were a member of the mob. Speak to them in their language, on their level. Make their hate your hate. If they are poor, talk to them of poverty. If they are afraid, talk to them of their fears. And if they are angry, Mr. Vollmer, if they are angry, give them objects for their anger. But most of all, the thing that is most of the essence, Mr. Vollmer, is that you make this mob an extension of yourself. Hitler: Say to them things like things like "they call us hatemongers." "They say we're prejudiced." "They say we're biased." "They say we hate minorities- minorities." "Understand the term, neighbors: "Minorities." "Should I tell you who are the minorities? "Should I tell you? "We! We are the minorities!" That way, Mr. Vollmer. Start it that way.
Donald Trump: Hitler Approved

Donald Trump: Hitler Approved
Correction: Donald Trump: Approved by a Fictionalized Hitler. Do people legitimately believe that Trump is anything like Hitler or even capable of becoming as powerful as Hitler? I thought most Facepunchers agree that senseless sensationalism is a bad thing.
Well no one thought Hitler would amount to anything, he was essentially laughed out of politics the first time he tried to do anything. And then Germany started charging 1,000,000,000,000 marks for bread. Then people got desperate. Only in this case, half of america is filled with ignorant people unwilling to learn (is that the definition of stupid?), not people victims of world war 1
Except Trump is missing a lot of things that he would need to be the next Hitler. To name a few; Personal army to fill a vacuum left by a crippled military A weak, brand-new democracy Extreme economic crisis His own party (republicans dont like him very much) Also what do you mean by half of the country? Are you trying to say republicans are all ignorant?
Only in this case, half of america is filled with ignorant people unwilling to learn (is that the definition of stupid?), not people victims of world war 1
That only makes the possibility of electing a racist maniac to lead a nation into disaster more likely. The surest way to stay in power is make sure that people are dumb enough to go against their own interests and make those who do realize what is happening too busy to vote. History doesn't repeat itself, people reacting in a similar way to similar situations cause history to repeat itself.
No, just Trump supporters. He has finally given all the racism and xenophobia that's been brewing in this country a voice. What a shame it is.
The irony being these people claim Muslims aren't fit to live a decent society yet blindly put their faith and beliefs in a maniac who's views go against a civilized society, stick a thick beard and some traditional Arabic clothing on Trump and there is literally no difference between him and Extremist "Islamic" preachers.
Except Trump is missing a lot of things that he would need to be the next Hitler. To name a few;
"Personal army to fill a vacuum left by a crippled military" (Germany's military didn't disappear, they voted together in large groups with the same interests. "A weak, brand-new democracy" (or an ineffective government of any type) "Extreme economic crisis" (A skillful person seeking power doesn't need a legitimate crisis if they can convince people that there is a crisis.) "His own party (republicans dont like him very much)" And the Brown shirted SN storm troopers didn't like Hitler either. Remember how that turned out during the "Night of the Long Knives"? "Also what do you mean by half of the country? Are you trying to say republicans are all ignorant?" Ignorance is strength in numbers. It's not restricted to any political rhetoric, or any class of person. As a student of history you learn from the mistakes of the past only to watch other people make the same mistakes over and over again.
No one wants to put a magnifying glass on themselves, it's so much easier to have a scapegoat. I don't even know how you'd begin to change these people, that's what is scary. I have a family member who constantly posts about killing Muslims and Obama. At thanksgiving he was giving us his whole plan on killing Obama, some people just left the dinner table. It's so scary these people exist. There's just nothing you can do with them except exploit them as Trump is doing. They won't listen, they won't question, I don't know what goes on in their head.
This is why I'm slowly being convinced that most people are morons who don't deserve any better. Not that that's going to stop me from correcting them whenever they open their mouths.
This is why I'm slowly being convinced that most people are morons who don't deserve any better. Not that that's going to stop me from correcting them whenever they open their mouths.
You must have a lot of friends
I didn't see any of that kind of thing when trump came to biloxi. I have a feeling a lot of stories about what happens at trump rallies are exaggerated or downright fabricated. "TRUMP RALLY WENT AS PLANNED" just isn't a good headline.
Pretty sure this thread describes a Trump rally going exactly as planned.
"Personal army to fill a vacuum left by a crippled military" (Germany's military didn't disappear, they voted together in large groups with the same interests.
Never said it did, but it severely limited by the Treaty of Versailles.
"A weak, brand-new democracy" (or an ineffective government of any type)
Do checks and balances mean anything to you?
"Extreme economic crisis" (A skillful person seeking power doesn't need a legitimate crisis if they can convince people that there is a crisis.)
Oh bull shit. Americans aren't in nearly as much turmoil as post-WWI Germany. Germans could see the crisis right in front of their eyes. It was their daily lives. It's much easier to convince people of a crisis when there is an actual crisis.
"His own party (republicans dont like him very much)" And the Brown shirted SN storm troopers didn't like Hitler either. Remember how that turned out during the "Night of the Long Knives"?
The Brown shirts and SN Storm troopers aren't even comparable to the republican party. They were practically an army. The republican party doesn't don uniforms and march in unison.
I didn't ask what your personal definition of ignorance is. Does that make Bernie supporters ignorant? I mean if we're gonna talk like jaded drop-outs, then aren't Bernie supporters just as ignorant? They march behind one guy because they think he'll fix their problems. Just like Trump supporters. Only their illusive enemy is the ultra-rich.
You must have a lot of friends
would you even want to be friends with people like that? that blindly believe that this wig wearing twat will make a country better by bringing heavy handed racism and further discrimination?
would you even want to be friends with people like this?
Yeah I'd be okay with being friends with "most people" (aka morons because I'm smarter than everybody else, it's a fact because I have the right opinions). Someone who doesn't "correct" people on their political beliefs sounds a lot more pleasant than someone who does. I'd rather be friends with an honest idiot than a jaded pseudo-intellectual.
Except Trump is missing a lot of things that he would need to be the next Hitler. Are you trying to say republicans are all ignorant?
- dont really need that when you've got a bunch of gun loonies supporting you - I'd say America's political system is weak, otherwise he wouldn't be polling so high and may win the nomination - America is in an economic pickle, not extreme but it could get very bad soon - You can shape a party to however you want it when you lead it, for example, Sanders will make the Democrats a bit more socialist (they wouldnt join socialist international or anything) and probably give more voice to them and labour unions as time goes on Trump has a lot of support from the far right of America, his views are scary and his entire ideology is insane. It is within every best interest that Trump does not get anywhere

Expect Trump had a designated protesting area OUTSIDE where he was making his speech, so the only reason a protester would go inside to the speech would be to make a scene, like this women tried to do. And from the article, they were wearing stars of david because apparently Trump is LITERALLY rounding up Muslims and genociding them, they were trying to start shit and Trump told them to GTFO
After Hamid and three others, all wearing stars reminiscent of those worn by Jews during the Holocaust, were escorted out by police and Trump campaign officials, Trump commented on the disturbance.
Trump is pretty much the American version of the BNP.
so people's experiences are only valuable if they align with your political beliefs
he did not say that he did not imply that he did not come close to implying that a dyslexic, illiterate one-eyed man reading his post in the dark would still not have misinterpreted it as much as you did [editline]10th January 2016[/editline] but you're probably well aware of that

Fuck, that is just the cutest thing I've ever seen. Protests shouldn't be herded off into areas approved by the ones you are protesting, it totally undermines the purpose of a protest; to make a scene and to get a point heard. With a "designated area" you are effectively put out of the way and hidden as much as possible from those you probably want to actually be protesting. You're contained, harmless as an ideology. It's totally asinine to actually allow that shit to happen. More power to the woman who went in there "to make a scene", she alone as probably done more than the protesters sitting in their "designated area".
Expect Trump had a designated protesting area OUTSIDE where he was making his speech, so the only reason a protester would go inside to the speech would be to make a scene, like this women tried to do.
Well yes most protesters work to make a scene. That's kinda the definition of protesting? And it's why people in charge of events like these put their Designated Protest Zone's away from where people actually are paying attention? Unfortunately for Trump someone still believes in the first amendment and exposed just how terrible your average Trump supporter is. Good on her. [editline]10th January 2016[/editline]
More power to the woman who went in there "to make a scene", she alone as probably done more than the protesters sitting in their "designated area".
And all she did was stand up. Then when a police officer started escorting her out she just left. She didn't need to do or say anything to expose the crowd for what they were, they just started acting like the bigoted bullies they are.
And all she did was stand up. Then when a police officer started escorting her out she just left. She didn't need to do or say anything to expose the crowd for what they were, they just started acting like the bigoted bullies they are.
It does kind of remind me of the original civil rights movements, some of the most powerful protests were the protesters just going about their lives as they wanted them to be, using the facilities for white people rather than the shitbox facilities for black people, etc. That isn't to say vocal or mass protest is useless, it does a pretty good job of getting coverage. But sometimes a silent protest can work wonders, it just has to be visible and not in a "designated protest zone".
Every "official" video I have found of this has the comments disabled (on YT at least) which leads me to believe that the story is a huge media stint merely designed to draw more attention to Trump. Hes just a huge fucking distraction to keep the public dazed and confused. A large rally with all kinds of walks of life and you want me to believe she was singled out and kicked out because she was 'silently protesting'? Sounds to me like she's either a fake or they were shooting for this purely for the sake of media attention (Trump/CNN).
