useful sites: http://strongpasswordgenerator.com/ https://howsecureismypassword.net/ My new email password would take trillions of years to crack, and I found out that adding a symbol to my weaker passwords changed the cracking time from ten days to 110 years. Pretty useful sites.
[editline]23rd August 2013[/editline] I am relieved
Huh, putting in like, a random quarter of my Steam Password into that website and it was already at like 46 million years.

Pretty useful sites.
if I combine all of them It would take a desktop PC about 6 sextillion years to crack your password mix it up It would take a desktop PC about A nonillion years to crack your password aside from that they aren't too complex
[editline]23rd August 2013[/editline] I am relieved
[thumb]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14054906/pwd.jpg[/thumb] Me too (this is a legit password that i use, except I cypher it, twice, it takes it from 11 minutes to crack it pre cypher, to that long post cypher, and the best thing is, the cypher is easy to remember and not hard to decode if you know it. Aka I picked a word, cyphered it twice and use that as a password.

Thanks for the heads up!
how is it annoying?
As somebody who is constantly wiping and flashing new ROM on their phone I can see how it can be annoying.

code a generator for a supercomputer and then come back and we'll compare results
code a generator for a supercomputer and then come back and we'll compare results
i dont know how to code :(
i can't imagine it would be too much different than the Desktop PC generator above, just increase the speed to whatever the equivalent of master cracker has [editline]23rd August 2013[/editline] oops broken automerge. if i could somehow take a look at what that website is running i might be able to do it

Holy fucking shit, that password generator is awesome, it gave me a password that would take 364 quintillion years to crack.
This is fairly distressing. However, I normally only browse trusted sites and never run anything that looks suspicious, so I should be okay. Also Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Anti Rootkit. [editline]23rd August 2013[/editline] Oh, and how could I forget this: lol
Am I safe yet? On a serious note, I would trust that site for accurate results. Your passwords are probably a lot weaker than it predicts.
Should've used protection
But it doesn't feel as good as it should be...
To the people doing that secure password thing, doesn't it seem bad to you guys that you are feeding some website your password?
Doesn't seem counter intuitive that you guys are feeding some website your password?
its a javascript that does not transmit passwords?
its a javascript that does not transmit passwords?
I'm just saying that putting your password in something that isn't your login seems like its never a good idea.
To the people doing that secure password thing, doesn't it seem bad to you guys that you are feeding some website your password?
It's not "some website" it's been around for a really long time, and is always used in situations like this.
It's not "some website" it's been around for a really long time, and is always used in situations like this.
But nobody would have the slightest idea if it got rooted and used for malicious purposes. They could change the script and steal about 500 passwords then change it back and nobody would have a clue.
It would take a desktop PC about 387 octillion years to crack your password. For my longest password. My current one is 412 years and my old one is 25 thousand years. I don't get how this works.
[sp]oliviamunncansuckit[/sp] [sp]not my password[/sp]
I don't get how this works.
It's based on the speed at which a typical desktop can bruteforce a password.
But nobody would have the slightest idea if it got rooted and used for malicious purposes. They could change the script and steal about 500 passwords then change it back and nobody would have a clue.
Well they're waiting a long time to do that since it's been around for a couple years.
Dont know about you guys, but Im kinda sure I'm safe with this new password
But nobody would have the slightest idea if it got rooted and used for malicious purposes. They could change the script and steal about 500 passwords then change it back and nobody would have a clue.
well the passwords aren't going to be of much use if you don't have the usernames
code a generator for a supercomputer and then come back and we'll compare results
Steamguard makes it pointless imo
Steamguard makes it pointless imo
this is true, i was just curious to see what the results would be if you sped up the cracking time
