Is there something he can't do?
Saw "Putin" on the front page and came in here expecting Putin doing awesome shit.
I was not disappointed.
POLOPOZOZO doesn't know shit about Putin, apparently.

He has done quite a bit for Russia. Have you ever considered the fact that he might actually care and is putting those forest fires to help? Honestly your head is so far up your ass at this point I don't think there's any hope.
This is like saying Bill Gate's donated to charity and created a whole new foundation just to raise his popularity and so people view him as a good person.
Wow a chart showing an economy emerging out of what once was an authoritarian and militant empire? No way! And I guess Stalin was a great guy for industrializing what once was a backwards autocracy, right? Flying copilot for a few minutes just before the plane drops water so that a camera can take a picture of you isn't something I imagine Bill Gates would do. If he cared about what happened to Russia outside of the main cities I'm pretty sure this little passage would be different:
"Putin's stunt comes as polls show waning public support for Russia's president and prime minister.
Respected Russian sociologist Leonty Byzov told Vedomosti business daily Putin and Medvedev's ratings could drop to 40% in the next six months. He said there was a growing fatigue surrounding Putin's popularity and that if the government's poor response to the wildfire crisis is taken into account, the two leaders' ratings would decrease dramatically."
But you know whatever FP gets a hard on for Chuck Norris alternatives.

I mean fuck did you even read the section that you took out of the public opinion section of that Wikipedia article?

Implying everyone 100% supports Obama, Bush, or any other leader.
Point is at least he's doing something other than sitting in an office signing forms all day, which I'm sure he deals with as well. He travels around and does more shit, makes him more likeable as a person, even if it is just a publicity stunt, which I doubt, because he's known to do shit like this quite often, even outside of presidency.
You just seem to be extremely butthurt for reasons I don't even know.

Uh, Stalin is viewed as a great leader by around half of Russia.
Breaking news: Putin declares war on fire, fire extinguishes self in fear.

He's talking to one of the displaced villagers from the fire.

Her breasts and Putin are having a staring contest:colbert:.
And the two guys at the back seem to be staring at Putin's finely toned ass.
Everyone seem to be staring at her breasts in that picture!
now why can the us' president step up and do things himself
Because he isn't an opportunistic scoundrel who's job is to pacify an ignorant public?
Putin putin down boolits for putin out fires.
This article has changed my entire view of Russian politics...
That fucking badass
One of these days we will see a headline like this "Putin approves genocide... to save kitty's."
why can't we have more awesome politicians like Putin?.
Putin eats them when they are born.
As fun as it is to call him a badass (and believe me I've had my share of doing so) he really is a murderous criminal in the end whose probably committed more crimes than can be imagined.
"Mr. President! The wildfires are spreading!"
Obama: Not my problem.
Putin: Get me on the next available plane.
Supposedly he suffocated them with his massive balls.
Funny how Obama has other people do work for him
Putin takes matters into his own hands and does the work himself.

Just because he was brutal does not mean he was not a great leader. Take, for instance, Peter the Great. You didn't fuck with him if you wanted to stay alive and/or out of a hellish prison. He crushed everyone that stood in his way. Regardless of all his brutality, he is widely considered to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, leaders ever to rule in Russia. I have yet to meet a single person, Russian or non-Russian, who does not believe that Peter the Great was a great leader. Stalin is a bit more divided, but did still accomplish a great deal, you must acknowledge that, whether you believe him to be great or not. You do not need to be kind to be great. Indeed, it can often be beneficial to be cruel to some extent.

which isn't necessarily a good thing
Not my edit, but I found it pretty entertaining.

Russia only agree'd to disarming a chunk of their nuclear stockpile because they could easily replace all those lost nukes with Putin, their real deterant against other countries.
