Israel confiscates oxygen machines donated to Palestinian hospitals
Looks like the fan in the picture can be used as a weapon. Better confiscate it!
The oxygen that that fan is blowing can also be used as a weapon
better ban oxygen from Gaza and hope people their develop the ability to breathe without it.
Fair point, it is a little paranoid. I think it's a little more justified than most other things because their terrorist government certainly isn't going to consider the peoples medical needs and probably just confiscate them. It's a much simpler connection than banning concrete because they might build tunnels.
But this is the same organisation that was elected, and though has launched rocket attacks into Israel and other despisable actions, has built schools and improvements in social welfare.
Simply branding them as terrorists seems inaccurate.
Think of Uranium. Yellow cake is an ordinary rock with a few radioactive properties, it is in the ground in a lot of countries. No point banning and confiscating the yellowcake because it's pretty useless as is. The right thing to ban is the enrichment of it to turn it into something useful.
yes, but unlike yellowcake oxygen from those machines is necessary for hospital patients.
How is this so hard to understand? Obviously everything can be turned into a weapon but some things are easier than others. You have to draw the line somewhere in what is banned and I would say something this easy to turn into an explosive is a fine spot.

walk up to the people in the hospitals who are dying and see if you can muster up the cheek to say that
Oh hey, you need oxygen to survive? Well since this Oxygen is readily available we are going to take it away because we are afraid that you are going to use it to make a bomb or something to blow up our house even though we have no solid proof to prove this. Sorry if you die due to our paranoia.

Are we talking about Hamas or the Fatah? The Fatah control the West Bank and have done a fine job on the road to peace and stability. Hamas have just been douchebags to everyone and ruined the region even more. They are considered a terrorist group by pretty much everyone, being elected should of changed them but they seem to just be utilising the power to do more offensive actions.

Nuclear power plants are a valuable source of energy that can provide power for the entire country and make valuable medical supplies. To do so however requires enriched Uranium. Iran is pulling this trick also.

devodiere is comparing oxygen, one of the basic ingredients of life, to uranium, which requires an huge understanding of nuclear physics to fully utilize for evil purposes :O

You're comparing oxygen to enriched uranium.

Yellowcake and normal oxygen levels are natural, Enriched Uranium and high density oxygen aren't. It's pretty much the same thing on a smaller scale.

Filling your lungs with enriched uranium is unhealthy, but filling your lungs with oxygen is life-saving

Putting Oxygen in a Nuclear reactor will not do anything but putting Uranium in there will create large amounts of power.
:downs:
Just ban everything, problem solved.
Putting Oxygen in a Nuclear reactor will not do anything but putting Uranium in there will create large amounts of power.

Well, you might be able to use oxygen in a nuclear fusion reactor!
But you're missing the point. ENRICHED URANIUM IS NOT A BASIC MEDICAL NEED. OXYGEN IS A BASIC MEDICAL NEED AND NOT HAVING THESE PIECES OF EQUIPMENT WILL COST THE LIVES OF MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE CURRENTLY BEING CARED FOR AT THIS HOSPITAL
If it matters to them so much, they can staff people to guard these machines to make sure they're being used for medicinal purposes.
And to think we give Israel aid. Tsk.
You're comparing high density oxygen to enriched uranium.
They can both be used as a weapon, they both require special equpment to create and they both have non-offensive uses. They are on different scales but you wouldn't give it anyone who can use it for a weapon and actively would.
Cunts.
And to those saying it could be a weapon, pencils and other school supplies can be used as weapons but they let little kids have those.
ANYTHING can be a weapon get over it.

If Hamas gets hold of a means of generating their own explosives then they will use it to kill Israeli civilians and cause more deaths. Some people live so others may die, it's fairly easy to see their reasoning for it.
If you can convince the Israeli military to keep watch on them (other aid groups would be fine too) and make sure they do not do anything with them then go ahead. That option doesn't appear to be available right now though so until it is, we have to decide between what we have.

The offensive uses of high-density oxygen are monumentally less threatening than that of enriched uranium, it's absurd to even compare the two. Enriched uranium doesn't directly save lives either.

What's the point of gun control when you can just choke someone, right?
OXYGEN IS A POWERFUL EXPLOSIVE. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BEWTEEN LETTING IT IN AND OTHER THINGS WHICH ARE FAR HARDER TO TURN INTO WEAPONS.

It is the same principle, it is in a smaller scale but it can still be used as a weapon. Factors like the ease of use for Oxygen and Hamas' willingness to use it are also factors that should be considered.
The enriched Uranium used in medical reactors can save lives, it's not direct but the advantages are comparable.
I don't know why everyone hates Israel for doing this. I'm saying yes its bad to ban the most basic shit. Yes this is harsh. But, the fact is 90% of don't live their and don't honestly know how it is. I'm talking about both sides.
If you don't get this I'm saying yes its bad but it could be used as a weapon and Israel shouldn't really ban it but maybe some bombs have been used by this.
The generators "came under the category of possible use for non-medical purposes"
I'm glad they stopped the donation. Those air generators would have started WWIII alone!

You don't draw the line when it comes to medical care. If you can save somebody's life, you do it. Sure, the pure compressed oxygen can be weaponized, but it will save a life, and probably many more.
You really need to feel some empathy, you should never deny help for somebody just because somebody might use your medical care maliciously.
Devodiere can you explain the process for making these "bombs", it doesn't appear to be anywhere near as easy as you have made it to be.
please explain.
Nuclear power plants are a valuable source of energy that can provide power for the entire country and make valuable medical supplies. To do so however requires enriched Uranium. Iran is pulling this trick also.
For the last fucking time, Iran can't even get a nuclear power plant working after spending 3 billion dollars and sucking 37 Russian Government Dicks to try and desperately get it working, they aren't going to be able to make a bomb any time soon.
Also would you please hurry up and just fucking bomb them already, I just want to see Mahmoud's charred body on international TV at this point, also where the fuck was Mossad back during June of 2009, they really could have tipped the Green Wave Movement from a Protest Movement that fizzled out like a North Korean Atomic Bomb to a real Revolution like in Kyrgyzstan, shit all it took Kyrgyzstan was about a hundred people with AKs and RPGs to wreck the government's shit
These are machines that take in air and pump it through a tube.
they aren't powerful enough to compress air to the point where it could be used as a weapon.

No it isn't motherfucker, It's a common fucking gas which happens to be flammable when purified, meanwhile you have to be fucking retarded to try and use Oxygen from a hospital generator in a bomb when you can already get high explosives from the fucking tunnels that are under the Egyptian border and are being smuggled into Gaza as we speak
Fuck Israel.
