The benefits severely outweigh the little-to-none drawbacks. If you HAVE to smoke pot to have fun, then you are not using it responsibly and have become psychologically addicted. If you need to turn to weed every time you're stressed, same thing.

Tobbacco by itself is a lot like Marijuana in that it isn't extremely harmful/addictive at all, but it still isn't good for your lung to constantly smoke it. The thing that makes ciggaretts so bad is that there are about 4000 other chemicles in it plus the nicotine, which is highly addictive. Smoking marijuana with tobacco isn't the same thing as just smoking a ciggarette with marijuana at all I.E. a hookah is very different from a cig even if the "main ingredient" is the same (tobacco). You're not going to get extensive lung cancer (unless you hit one like... every day for a long time) and addiction from hookah but you will from cigs.

Anyways about the article: it doesn't suprise me. Marijuana has several things going for it over cigs: 1. It is much healthier for you 2. It gets you high 3. It's not addictive (only psychologically) 4. It is just as "cool" to do, if not more these days. Why smoke something bad for you that's going to get you addicted for life when you can smoke some marijuana, get something out of it, and be able to walk away the next day without craving some more? And not have to worry about getting lung cancer (unless you turn into a pot head and just smoke an assload)?

I don't really see why they had to study up on this, it's much easier for kids to grab some money and go across the street to buy weed then it is to create a fake idea and spend $40 on cigarettes at some gas station.

I remember in high school teachers/cops were telling kids just to smoke real weed rather than shit like K2 if they were going to smoke anyways.
