It was a state of the art aircraft at the time. New design strategies, new concepts and technology involved.

At the time it was also something that was urgently needed, which isn't the case with how it is with most new designs today.
I still wish we had used the YF-23. That thing looked amazing with the equilateral triangle wings.

I've always wondered ultimately what the Comanche would have turned out to be. If it would have been a total flop or actually be as awesome as it looks.
