I'm sure the President of France agrees with you.

this isn't exactly good news

If the title is any indication, this isn't a new ban on porn sites, simply a review of a previously standing ban on them.
Title very misleading OP.
The new government is currently deciding if they should uphold the old pre-revolution pornographic/sites ban or not; edited it accordingly.

I figured as much.
What happens if you google boobs
Search terms are also blocked, when you try to google a blocked search term you just get redirected to the "This website is blocked etc. page.
You could also try to deliberately misspell words, like: "booobs" or "pron" Google would automatically search for boobs and porn respectively.
So if you type that in the images, you'll obviously see a gallery of porn and tits, if however, you click any of the thumbnails, 80% of the time it would redirect to the "This website is blocked" page
Typing banned search terms in instant Google search doesn't work either, Google will just say your internet appears to be offline or something similar.
Of course the best way to bypass it all would be to use Hotspot Shield
Did I read that correctly? Instead of using the government position to try and change the policy, he resigns? How the hell does that help things?
an act of protest
he probably didnt have the power to change anything, so assuming he is a popular government official, he can resign and then get support and awareness for whatever view he holds
Banning is bad but also is porn I guess. I look at it anyway though!
edit:
the ban shouldn't have occurred though
How is porn bad? Please, tell me.

Keep in mind Tunisia is a Muslim nation, so it'd probably be a beheading

You could always just manually type in the Google search URL
I did that when I was in school, and I was the coolest kid in class [sp]until everyone realized I was looking at pictures of dead people and then they outcast me and I killed myself[/sp]

Nope

Are you trying to tell me that Tunisia's government has a search-blocker superior to that of my local school district?
I'm seriously offended

>:(
I'm not a porn searching expert, but I'm fairly certain that there's very little or no difference between typing in a search term and clicking "search" and manually searching via URL (e.g. http://www.google.com/search?q=term). you're sending the same query either way
I currently reside in Bahrain, I'm pretty sure Tunisia uses the same censorship technology.

Is it bad that I've never even heard of Bahrain

It only displays that when I'm accessing Facepunch from a DoD network and computer, hence the shitty browser/OS.

Before the protests occurred, absolutely not. After? Yes, it is pretty bad.

Completely OT, but do you happen to switch between devices and networks / proxies a lot? It seems like every few posts you move around.
I mean one of your posts in this thread was (apparently) from a blackberry in the UK.
Or do you happen to own a teleporter and or time machine?
Starpluck is actually a Mossad agent.
This will now be called the porn rebellion.

Oh dear, look who rated your post agree.
RUN.

Nah I never use proxies on Facepunch, I’m not exactly sure why it said I was in the UK but I was using a Blackberry at the time. And no, I don’t switch devices or networks a lot. The only hand-held device I primarily access Facepunch with is my iPod Touch, using my BB is pretty rare.
Other than that, for the ones I commonly use: it’ll either say XP/2000 & IE6 or 7, USA, if I’m on a DoD computer and network or Win 7/Firefox if I’m using my home PC.
