Mojang chose to implement the check, so legally, the case still stands.
I don't understand. They are suing him over a game that doesn't exist, for not allowing access to certain information? What information?

Nonsense. That means that anybody who programs something using C++ standard libraries is just as liable if somebody finds the C++ standard libraries breach patents.
They didn't code it in the first place.
