picture this, a man has one of those kitchen knives you're defending. he's got it up to the throat of an innocent civilian. You draw your gun on him, and he says something along the lines of "one more move and the girl dies"
what do you do? Drop your gun and walk away, or shoot the assailant?

Kids are going to learn about guns. if the parents teach them about it it's going to be a lot better than their friend who heard it from their older brother who heard it from his friend who plays too much doom teaching them about guns.

That's an odd question. Why is he doing that? Is he angry at the girls parents? Was he hit as a child? Did he grow up in a bad neighborhood? There's all sorts of reasons he could be doing that. We can't go around shooting people when we can help them instead.

That doesn't mean that they have to get even remotely close to one. So if a friend of a friend of a friend who plays too much doom said something erronous about guns it wouldn't matter.
