The planet has been cheating nature for years, and with the population increasing so quickly it was only going to be a matter of time before she strikes back.
Yeah i agree the stuff is crap isn't it?
I mean what are the doctors going to do when their useless crap don't work any more?
Natural crap?
Been used for 1000's of years and still works.
Guess what the stuff that works gets called.
Medicine.

Doctors rather profit then cure you.
depends if they work under a system made to make profit, or a system made to help those who are sick.
Everytime I get offered antibiotics by a nurse or doctor I just refuse and let my immune system do it's job
We'll find something, but for right now, people will need to be more careful.
Everytime I get offered antibiotics by a nurse or doctor I just refuse and let my immune system do it's job
I think i'll start doong that myself.
I never could swallow those massive pills anyway.
I think, if a new antibiotic gets discovered, it should be licensed strictly.
I think, if a new antibiotic gets discovered, it should be licensed strictly.
Oh it will be because of the fact it'd be costly to find a new one.
Everytime I get offered antibiotics by a nurse or doctor I just refuse and let my immune system do it's job
Denying them every time is stupid. I could make the difference between a minorly inconvenient pain, or you getting right fucked up. For small infections and stuff it makes sense to let your body do the most work. But don't fuck around when they insist you take them.
In the case of not sounding stupid, but rather I want to ask a question to know.
I take meds for my Hep C
Rebetol (Ribavirin)
and a injection
Pegatron or something like that.
Does this apply to me?
(I'll ask my doctor when I see him again)
I had MRSA, which is a medically resistant virus, and it's not having something that's borderline incurable. Spent 2 weeks int he hospital on heavy drugs and pain killers. There's no way we can afford that sort of future for everyone.
Arn't anti-biotics bad becuase they destroy your immune system due to taking the pill.
not to mention it makes your children unable to fight it properly due to your immune system not able to fight it anymore.
Think about it, one day the cure for rabies won't work and then suddenly zambies everywhere. :v:

Doc discovered MRSA in my sinuses during reconstruction surgery. Suppose to be getting some drug in the mail to rinse sinuses out with now. Shit sucks, though I don't have to go to hospital for it.

Rabies is a virus. Anti-biotics do nothing for it.
Where the fuck do you think medicines come from?
Upon having an inflammation, an extract from willow tree bark acts as a NSAID. I wonder what we can call it. Aspirin?
"Alternative medicine" that has been studied, peer reviewed and submitted to a double blind trial and other gold standards is branded as a magical item called a "medicine"
Let alone methicillin resistant strains.
I see you your methicillin resistant strain and throw in a Vancomycin resistant strain.
One of the few drugs that actually work any more is Linezolid, and if that goes down the tubes in terms of resistance, we're all fucked.
I just recently had a sorethroat this week that made swallowing hard to do.
I had a similar bout the year previously and I mistook the anti-biotics. I stopped taking them after everything was better instead of taking the whole dosage.
This time around, I just nuked my throat with chicken noodle soup with some added salt.
Worked.

no, you're misunderstanding. Bacteria are rapidly evolving and adapting organisms. We have found antibiotics that kill these organisms in order to cure diseases they cause. But since they evolve so rapidly, constant exposure to our antibiotics in humans, cattle and other sources have allowed them to evolve in order to resist these antibiotics.
not to mention it makes your children unable to fight it properly due to your immune system not able to fight it anymore.
This is a bit like saying your children will be born with green hair because you dyed your hair green.

Antibiotics are lifesaving medicines and aid individuals with compromised or weakened immune systems, helping them make full recoveries from otherwise serious bacterial problems. They can also be used responsibly to mitigate more minor infections.
They are only really harmful if taken irresponsibly, such as taking half a course and stopping, prescribing for incredibly minor things and when they can be bought by any misinformed eejit over the counter, who will use them incorrectly, such as for a viral infection or just because he "feels sick".
The immune system should still get a fair chance at fighting the infections off, even on a course of antibiotics, so responsible use of them doesn't really harm your immune system so much as stop it from being overwhelmed. As for kids immune systems, as long as they aren't kept in a glass dome, they'll likely pick up all the standard infections and such and build up resistances over time.
Welcome to the new Middle ages
ITT: People fighting over "natural" medicine and "unnatural" medicine.
I'm just waiting for bacteria to kill everyone, or turn them into zombies, or vampires, man, that would be awesome.
Great, very few times in my life I've had to take antibiotics, and now I'm going to be screwed later in life due to society's dependency and misuse of the stuff.
GG all. Time for glass domes and quarantines.
Everytime I get offered antibiotics by a nurse or doctor I just refuse and let my immune system do it's job
Because of my allergies and deviated septum, I can get several sinus infections throughout the year if I'm not careful. Obviously I do what I can to keep my allergies under control, but if I develop a sinus infection, it just doesn't clear up on its own apparently. I've tried waiting it out and it resulted in over month of misery on a few occasions.

So edgy.
Remember that game that was used to figure out how to beat the HIV virus? What if we did something like that with bacteria, let legions of gamers come up with efficient solutions for the most points.
so let me get this strait so long as I use Antibiotics only very rarely they will still work.? for me.?
so let me get this strait so long as I use Antibiotics only very rarely they will still work.? for me.?
No. In most cases, they'll still work fine. We're just transitioning into a period where that isn't going to be true for much longer and we need to seek out alternatives.

IANAD but those are both RNA drugs and don't piss around with the immune system or any biotics, as hepC is purely a viral infection, so you should be okay
I'm, on the other hand, completely fucked.
Got a prescription for anti-biotics to take out a small staph infection a few hours ago.
Suck it CDC.

Don't use them every time you get a sore throat and you'll be fine.
