• Canada votes: Trudeau in the lead to win a minority

Look forward to casting my first vote, especially if it means helping to oust the con's
I only hope that we won't see a second "Orange Wave" in Québec but this time with the Liberals.
I'm more concerned about how Justin Trudeau will treat TPP, Currently Mulcair is the only one openly against TPP. Legalizing marijuana is inevitable regardless, as long as it isn't Harper pulling the strings.
did'nt he just say he would look into it,.? that's not very promising to here and it fact means nothing if he looks at this closed behide doors. And without telling at least asking how canadians feel make some kind of vote of ya or na on tpp
At least if it's a Liberal minority and NDP manages to get a decent amount of seats Harper won't be able to fuck as any harder than he already has.
That was sort of the situation in Ontario before last year's elections. The Liberal minority government had to work closely with the 3rd place NDP in order to stay in power. I'm guessing if the Tories lose, even by a small margin, then Harper will step down.

(Even though I'm not a Canadian and don't live in Canada?) In my honest opinion, I'd say it might be too close to call yet, probably not till late tonight (or about Midday tomorrow for me as I'm 14 and half hours ahead) to find out who will savour victory, but with odds looking towards a narrow majority for the Liberals or even a Liberal-NDP Coalition. I have a feeling that Trudeau might have to work with Mulcair in having any chance in running the country and having a safe supply of votes in the House of Commons and the Senate to be able to have a functioning government.
CBC website

When the PCs lost in Alberta their leader stepped down. I expect nothing less from an Alberta Conservative.
lol because conservatives from Alberta are all inherently bad at their job?
Oh yeah, their track record is great!
We're doing good as long as Harper has to find a new job tomorrow.
This is good because I, as an American, now have a back up country to go to in the cataclysmic event of a Trump Presidency.
At least harper does what he say. Justin, however, said he would legalize weed, to get young vote, allow niqab to get arab vote and finally, many women that dont know politics would vote for him cause hes "cute"...

Voted Libertarian as protest vote.
Like when he reformed the Senate?
Well mostly But anyway whe all know that no matter what happen, it wont get better. If it would really change something, it would likely be banned to vote anyway.

Justin, however, said he would legalize weed, to get young vote, allow niqab to get arab vote and finally, many women that dont know politics would vote for him cause hes "cute"...
you're wrong. Harpers government and campaign manufactured the Niqab issue. Only two women ever tried to get away with that, and it's since been settled in court. The conservatives were the only ones to manufacture a ruckus about it.
Voted Libertarian as protest vote.
If you protest vote you're effectively voting for whoever you least want to win. Trudeau is going to work to end a series of drug laws that disproportionately target minorities and the poor, support the right free expression of religion granted in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and *gasp* is incredibly handsome to boot? Truly these are all reasons we should vote Harper.
At least harper does what he say.
Like fixing the economy? Oh wait, we're officially in a recession. And that's only the beginning.
First results are starting to come in on CBC. Liberals leading in Newfoundland, as expected.

Libs in the lead so far (very early on) with 5 seats, 0 for everyone else
Update on results: Elections Canada reports that trudeau currently has 100% off the seats. [sp]5/5 seats so far[/sp] [editline]easd[/editline]
Libs in the lead so far (very early on) with 5 seats, 0 for everyone else
Gah, where did you train your nijitsu
Scott Simms and Judy Foote are on the board as the first two elected MPs. Both Liberal. Polls just closed in PEI, NB and NS.
I love how my local neighborhood has the same amount of parlimentary power at a good quarter of Canada. (Burnaby North - Seymour VS Nunavut)
Polls reportedly don't close here for another 2 hours.
Polls reportedly don't close here for another 2 hours.
likewise here in Winnipeg
likewise here in Winnipeg
In BC our polls close last. It is like watching a spooky tide of politics coming towards you on the live poll tracker map.
Watching this from my phone, Google says 3seats counted for Liberal party
Looks like a dead cert for the Liberals.
