and now he can continue with his promises and his power!
such nice hair
Could you even imagine a Green Majority?
Or a majority of the many other parties that are never mentioned
By the time this speech is over, it'll be time for another election.

Like the Marxist-Leninist aka Communist Party.

I hope so.
Like the Marxist-Leninist aka Communist Party.
If the Marxist-Leninist Party is the Communist Party, what does that make the Communist Party?
Like the Marxist-Leninist aka Communist Party.
I find it hilarious that the Rhinoceros Party polled higher than they did, as did the Libertarians.
Or a majority of the many other parties that are never mentioned
Christian Heritage Party majority. It would be like Harper cranked up to 11.
Today was a good day.
So that's his speech? No talks about what's going to happen?
NDP keeps creeping up, now at 42 seats.
In-b4-NDP-majority

Well, the ML Party is a splinter of the original and now-defunct Communist Party of Canada, but that's a fuckton of a lot of info to load onto the end of that last post.

I didn't even know my riding had a candidate until I got to the ballot booth and they were at the top of the ballot. And then I had never even heard of the party name and just assumed it was the Communist Party.
I hope this is a wake-up call here in the states, in the last 3 months some of the most anti-enviromental governments in the western world have been kicked out of power, first tony Abbot in Australia, now canada
Our new PM can fight for our Canadian rights!

Hey Harper if you want to hide from the press after this defeat I can think of a really great face covering you could use!

I just hope the left-wing momentum can carry over from Canada to the US in general. The presidential election is important, but nothing is going to get done if we leave both houses in Republican hands.
Did Harper actually say anything about resigning in his speech?
Did Harper actually say anything about resigning in his speech?
Nope. But his campaign staff sent out a short press release saying he was and would talk about it tomorrow or something.

The poor bastard looked like he was going to cry.

Now isn't the time for that. Trudeau's been representing to the country exactly what he plans on doing as head of state for the past four years, now. This isn't even day 1.
grits for life fuck the tories
minutes ago NDP was literally one vote behind PC in my community and now they are 43 behind
weep for me

I actually saw that party on my ballot, I was like.. what.
I'm fine with Trudeau's speech tbh.
This was one of the longest campaigns in Canada's history, we heard enough what he is going to do.
My riding has 98% of the ballots in but they still haven't called it. Right now it's Liberals in 1st, NDP in 2nd, and Conservatives in 3rd - but with only a 40 vote difference between first and second they're going to be recounting for a while. This riding used to always be a sure thing for the Conservatives, they lost bigtime even in the middle of nowhere.
My brother wants me to post this here:

The cities and northern areas with large Aboriginal populations didn't so much this time.

Update: My riding just went NDP with a super narrow 70-vote win

edited to remove names because I probably shouldn't publicly shame conservative voters and stupidly posted this without doing so.
I have a few like them on my feed as well:

Having differing political opinions isn't being 'ass-backwards'
