There was no novelty to begin with. Personally, I think Mitt is a pretty decent guy, just like Obama. He knows his shit, he can help, and people seem to just throw the idea of him under a bus because of a few blunders on his part. I realize Facepunch has this tendency to be leftist, but it just seems like everyone here hates him to hate him, to say they hate something, and then attribute it to whatever they can find in the news. And how exactly does believing in him and what he says make anyone at all a bad person? Because every person, all of those thousands upon thousands, must be horrible people, right? They must like to beat up gays in the streets and run over dogs, I'm sure. Yes, I must be a bad person because Romney appeals to me more than Obama. Can't be any other way.
so you weren't joking?
seriously, is anyone going to actually explain to me why Romney is apparently the devil?
follow the news.
so you weren't joking?
I sugarcoated most of it to come off as a half-joke, though people here seem to find the idea of someone voting for Romney to either be the work of the devil or some corporate conspiracy, and quite possibly an impossible feat for someone who's actually knowledgeable of the country's situation or intelligent, for that matter. Romney isn't really as bad as everyone portrays him. He just plays on a different set of rules than most people are used to, so they assume he's some sort of money-grubbing elitist demon and not an actual person anymore. It's actually kind of sad to see people jump the gun and make assumptions on a candidate just because of his party or personal beliefs.

Yes. Simple as that. Just because he has different views than you doesn't make him any better or worse than you.
Yes. Simple as that. Just because he has different views than you doesn't make him any better or worse than you.
oppressing people is a different view yes, but do you seriously think it is a morally correct one?
Yes. Simple as that. Just because he has different views than you doesn't make him any better or worse than you.
Hitler did nothing wrong. But really, you're saying you'd put him in a position of power despite all this?
Yes. Simple as that. Just because he has different views than you doesn't make him any better or worse than you.
"everyone is entitled to their opinion" is a dumb excuse for being an idiot and having uninformed or morally reprehensible opinions. hes deffo worse than me and plenty of other people because he is rude and bigoted towards anyone not like him.
Hitler did nothing wrong. But really, you're saying you'd put him in a position of power despite all this?
???
???
hes saying you could apply the "just because his opinions are different" thing to anyone, its a dumb argument people use to defend shitty opinions because they realize their ideas are so terrible they have no other way of defending them
hes saying you could apply the "just because his opinions are different" thing to anyone, its a dumb argument people use to defend shitty opinions because they realize their ideas are so terrible they have no other way of defending them
mitt romneys a cool guy he just hates the gays and the blacks a little more than you do
Hitler did nothing wrong. But really, you're saying you'd put him in a position of power despite all this?
and godwin'd [editline]15th September 2012[/editline] Say what you will about hitler, at least he was consistent in his ideology.
Say what you will about hitler, at least he was consistent in his ideology.
are you seriously saying that Hitler is better than Romney because he never stopped and thought, "hmm, maybe people that aren't just like me deserve to be treated like human beings."
are you seriously saying that Hitler is better than Romney because he never stopped and thought, "hmm, maybe people that aren't just like me deserve to be treated like human beings."
yes
are you seriously saying that Hitler is better than Romney because he never stopped and thought, "hmm, maybe people that aren't just like me deserve to be treated like human beings."
actually it can be argued that hitler's predictability and stubbornness was what lost him the war. so in it's own way that was one of his better traits.
"everyone is entitled to their opinion" is a dumb excuse for being an idiot and having uninformed or morally reprehensible opinions. hes deffo worse than me and plenty of other people because he is rude and bigoted towards anyone not like him.
You're acting just as rude to him as you are making of him, so you both seem kind of like the exact same person at this point. You're now Mitt Romney.
actually it can be argued that hitler's predictability and stubbornness was what lost him the war. so in it's own way that was one of his better traits.
Hitler's stubborn hatred is what started the war in the first place.
You're acting just as rude to him as you are making of him, so you both seem kind of like the exact same person at this point. You're now Mitt Romney.
Wrong.
You're acting just as rude to him as you are making of him, so you both seem kind of like the exact same person at this point. You're now Mitt Romney.
i honestly have trouble believing that you're serious but your posting history looks like you're consistently like this anyway so i guess you're serious? romney chose to be a shitty person and he chose his actions and ideology, gay people didn't choose to be gay
You're acting just as rude to him as you are making of him, so you both seem kind of like the exact same person at this point. You're now Mitt Romney.
So wait, let me get this straight. I'm just as bad as Mitt Romney, who wants to deny others basic rights, because I think that makes him a bad person?
Hitler's stubborn hatred is what started the war in the first place.
i didn't say hatred, i said stubbornness and predictability
People will vote for him becuase he's not Obama, doesn't matter how shitty he is thats all some people need to secure their vote.
Well, that's how Obama breezed into office in 2008... So... Yes. That seems to be a fairly effective tactic.
Well, that's how Obama breezed into office in 2008... So... Yes. That seems to be a fairly effective tactic.
Well, to be fair, I did like Obama's policies better than McCain's. They agreed on most things, but the 10% of stuff that differed went in Obama's favor IMO. I'm not saying that the combination "not Republican" and "black" wasn't the primary factor in his election, but let's not discount policy entirely.
You're acting just as rude to him as you are making of him, so you both seem kind of like the exact same person at this point. You're now Mitt Romney.
No, you're the Mitt Romney. And then Doneeh continued being borderline retarded.
i honestly have trouble believing that you're serious but your posting history looks like you're consistently like this anyway so i guess you're serious? romney chose to be a shitty person and he chose his actions and ideology, gay people didn't choose to be gay
Kopimi, the people voting for Mitt Romney don't give a damn about LBGT rights. If they did, Santorum would have kicked the kicked the living shit out of Mitt Romney. They either A) profess the generic small government > big government argument and/or B) think illegal immigrants are the problem by taking jobs and taxpayer money. We're all well acquainted with choice A, the whole generic "Obamacare is evil" stance that we've all seen at least once so I don't need to go over it. However, the people who side with choice B (and from the people voting for Romney whom I've talked to, that seems to be the majority) are pissed off at things like the DREAM Act and Deferred Action. One person I spoke to actually said that over half the rapes in America were committed by illegal immigrants. So basically, you could beat a Republican on every single issue and you still would never convince them to not vote for Romney simply because they want the illegal immigrants gone or government to shrink like a punctured balloon. All the other moral issues like rights for gay couples are just distractions.
