I'd say make Steam an optional thing for it. So you can buy a retail copy of the game, and either activate it on Steam, or activate like games used to/just play it like normal.
Yeah thats the idea Like with Fallout 3 Bad example but Didn't require steam
Get rid of Gamebryo, then we'll talk.
If i had a say i would say don't use steamworks just use a basic drm It would be a lot easier
And have GFWL? Sign me out.
They're using id Tech 5 so we're pretty good.

I agree with this.
I hate games steam exclusive.

Yeah because having all your games in one place is so bad.
Yeah because having all your games in one place is so bad.
I hate this steam fanboys.
I'd would actually just do what I said to shut everyone up on the Bethesda Forums. They hated NEw Vegas being on Steam by default.

Well you're always going to have whiners.
The question is, would they rather have Steam or some arcane bullshit DRM scheme.
I'd rather have what they did with Oblivion. A cd key activation and that's it.
[editline]1st December 2010[/editline]
And if it's on Steam exclusively, modding will be much harder.
Whichever day TES V gets released, I will have a permaboner from that day on.

hello there false dichotomy how's it going
I hate this steam fanboys.
Sorry, I can't understand your broken English.
Better weather patterns will be great!
A multiplayer mode to let you PvP with your SP chars.
IE, go to an arena in some city, enter the fight. Seamless transition, and suddenly you're doing a 1v1 against someone after some stealthy matchmaking.
Then they could get a little more cool with it and start implementing PvP in more unique ways. For example, say in some area of the map there's a battlefield where two factions are often fighting one another. Let's say you walk into the battlefield - neutral to both sides when you do, and you decide to fight for one of the factions. Suddenly, you get rep with that faction and lose some with the other. From now on, whenever you go back to that battlefield there is a seamless transition to multiplayer, and you will find other players fighting amidst the NPC warriors.
Just some examples.
I would like to see more flexibility and backing to house buying, and either the main quest is nonexistent or you aren't "Hurrr all powerful champion Hurr" I like enough roleplay where i Don't feel like god, and Christ's sake, make a jump height limit, if I have a very high acrobatics is it? Level I jumped so high i hurt myself falling, and after a certain athletics level, "Who needs horses I can run!" Maybe a realism mode, which involves survival and limited jump height, yeah
*A Realism mode is exactly what we need, turn it on for limited run speed, and jump height, also survival
*Realism off, you can be all powerful champion of the damn world!
*also, a more dynamic world, and as said before, Non telepathic guards
*Even possibly, a banking system, as I remember from an mmorpg I played (Ultima Online) there were banks in each town, allowing you to store a certain amount of items
*And if it goes on steam exclusively, I will cry, at least make steam an option I personally don't like steam, you need an internet connection to install a game, and if you lose your password, you're fucked over, at least with an individual installation from a disc, we can go and play on a friend's computer.
-Just throwing my opinions out there.

Oblivion didn't need a CD-Key activation... At least my copy didn't.
I would prefer For the elder scrolls A Basic drm None gfwl Them make there own drm scheme

Also No multiplayer everyone wants multiplayer....
Pretty sure they'll use Steamworks! New Vegas did pretty well.
I say have a choice retail/steamworks
Fuck yeah, bro
Adding gore would be cool, especially with a more advanced system than just several hit-points, like using a multiple layer ragdoll : clothes/skin/muscles and organs/skeleton. Every time you hit someone, for example with a big dagger slash, you go through one or multiple layers, letting some visible damages on the opponent. If you cut every layers at once or with mutliple attacks, you'd be able to actually dismember the opponent.
This would be rather resources-demanding, but the effect would be awesome, and it would prevent from beheading someone with a single arrow.
Also, better multi-core support!

I think that beheading someone with an arrow would be kinda cool, especially if it got pinned to the wall.
They better be making TESV. Also, too all that want tits and shit in the game, go download a fucking mod.

So exactly like in Dwarf Fortress, but in 3D graphics. Would be pretty awesome.
Random Dungeon Generation please.

It would be cooler if their head didn't come off, and they just got stuck to the wall by the arrow through their face.
I think that beheading someone with an arrow would be kinda cool, especially if it got pinned to the wall.
With an adequate spell, arrow or bow it would be cool. I really would like to have the ability to charge spells into the bows by holding the spell button while keeping your arrow ready.
Random Dungeon Generation please.
This would be nice, too.
While I will admit Oblivion has a metric fuckton of dungeons, and I still haven't hit them all after five or six playthroughs, there are a handful that I tend to hit a lot. After the third or fourth time, it gets to the point where I can pretty much navigate the dungeons with my eyes closed.
Not a major problem, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to having at least some random dungeon generation. I think it'd be pretty neat.
I think I'd want co-op more than anything. The gamer could be just as buggy as Oblivion and I wouldn't mind. TES with friends would be outstanding.
