Neither did Napoleon.
Hitler didn't smoke either.
Stalin did.

Hitler used topical cocaine, and injected amphetamines.

And look at how much he failed.

Don't you dare fucking diss the greatest general in history. He took FRANCE and beat every nation in Europe for years and the reason it went to shit was because the combined efforts of the rest of Europe went to war with and defeated him finally after they tried 7 times.

What?
The reason it went to shit was he attempted to invade Russia, which tends to be an incredibly stupid idea. And it went badly, unsurprisingly, and this loss gave many European states the impetus needed to band together and strike the French Empire.
Also, you say France as though it wasn't a powerhouse until the Franco-Prussian War.
well duh but my point is still relevant because it had nothing to do with the effects of the two drugs
it is making a point that what you said was silly
and i think you know that
My point was predicated on the assumption that smoking has no short-term repercussions to speak of, so saying "you are wrong as long as we ignore the assumption that smoking has no short-term repercussions to speak of" is what is silly mister!

he had very little other choice than invade russia
the dynamics of the politics in europe were very delicate, if napoleon didnt look like supreme ruler of europe to everyone else the other nations would band together against him
he invaded russia because they were acting against their alliance with france
after he failed in russia it became apparent to austria and prussia(2 former allies) that napoleon was weak and allied with the british and took down napoleon

what your not getting is that he doesnt smoke any more, if he doesnt smoke he wont have withdrawals
my point was saying that he should smoke because you dont want him to have withdrawals is the equivalent of him starting to smoke meth because you dont want him to have withdrawals
its silly for him to do either when he wouldnt have withdrawals in the first place
[editline]9th February 2011[/editline]
also napoleons invasion of russia set the precedent that it was a bad idea to invade russia
Once you stop smoking, no more withdrawals- def.
He didn't shoot up meth, he did smoke, and he probably still gets cravings for it seeing as this is newsworthy enough that he quit for a year, he probably smoked a lot. I don't know anything about him though.
Good for him, but not really that important to be in the news.
I smoked a cigarette for one year once.
It was 1048.32 kilometers long.
In other news, Obama has become addicted to nicotine gum.
and not a single fuck was given that day.
The End. :downs:

cravings arent the same as regular withdrawals, cravings means you still have the habit and desire to smoke, not so much a physical addiction
Also, Obama is Drug-Free! Hooray. :what:
I had no idea he smoked till today.
If milk on amazon.com is news worthy than this must be too
I'm sorry I ever doubted you.
I had no idea he smoked till today.
I vaguely remember some "think of the children" type whining about it when he was first elected. Maybe that's part of why it's in the news now.
Well, good for him. Likely has no bearing on the grand scheme of things, but nice to know anyway I guess.

you didn't pass history class did you
Well done Mr. Obama, quitting smoking is very difficult for a lot of people.
If Obama smokes, will his skin get darker because he's breathing in dark smoke?
you didn't pass history class did you
Did you.
Eurgh, I wanted to find that scene from Father Ted where Ted envisions Dougal as a giant cigarette due to withdrawal.
Dougal sees a giant roller skate.
Ted sees the Cig.
Did you.
it's weird because that's not a question yet in the context it would sound like a question

He's making a statement; he wishes he "did you"
dinner and movie first
