Dad of Stoya, a porn star says she "Ruined porn for him"

And then there's all of the complications and things that comes to being in a monogamous relationship with a person who has sex with loads of people and probably gets pleasure out of it.
You're overestimating the liberalism of a lot of people. It'd be unacceptable for me, and probably for anyone who isn't very liberal or a polygamist.
It's just a matter of whether or not you can view sex as something without emotional charge. Not in a jaded sense, but rather viewing sex with other porn stars the same way an office worker views filling out reports and sending mail. I'm not saying I personally hold this view, but I think that a porn star who views his/her work as completely without romance then that person's partner would just need to be willing to believe that.
Business and pleasure being separate is most likely can be just as true in the porn industry as anywhere else. What I'm saying is that I don't think it's an ideological issue as much as it's a matter of accepting that it's not the physical act of sex that's meaningful, but the emotional response behind it (if any). The partner of a porn star hasn't got much reason to be jealous if it's known that that his/her better half isn't having sex with her porn actor peers out of personal desire or love.

Speaking of mono/polygamy is meaningless if private and professional copulation are viewed as separate things. Sex as part of your line of work can hardly qualify as a relationship. Porn stars (usually?) don't have feelings for their partners and probably aren't getting that much pleasure out of it compared to their private relationships. I don't think there are many porn stars who picked their line of work out of a desire to have sex with as many different partners as possible.
In Stoya's case though, she said she does it because she loves sex, so it can be implied that she at least enjoys it somewhat.
I'm saying that a lot of people wouldn't separate romantic sex and stuff done for a job, and to add to that, a lot of people do have ideological reasons for why they would have a hard time coping with a marriage like that. You still see couples getting divorces over one night stands after their spouse got drunk and rubbed up on some person. I personally think that even if the act of sex doesn't have to be connected to any sort of emotions, it still counts.

Jealousy isn't a logical thing, either, even people like swingers who are very experienced with handling it have to work hard to prevent it from bubbling up.

Getting upset because your spouse had emotionless, pointless sex just for money could be arbitrary, but monogamy isn't pragmatic and is arbitrary itself to an extent, is sort of what I'm trying to say. Something being arbitrary doesn't immediately invalidate it, though.
And polygamy is pretty much what you'd have with a pornstar, not polyamory, so either way, my point still stands.
Uh, no, polygamy is what you'd have if you married the people your spouse was fucking.
