I try to switch to the G+ version of my channel and it's just has everything removed. My subs are gone, my likes/playlists are gone, everything. Is there an import button i'm just missing?
Did you click "Keep my YouTube username" ?
I guess this is what happens when a company has practically a monopoly on video streaming sites.
just use feather
jesus christ I had no idea this existed, thank you so much
This is probably the best analogy I can come up with when it comes to describing youtube updates and the users, and googles, reaction to complaints. "Hey there guys it's your good pal google, come on in, have a seat in that chair over there." "Oh hey thanks google, this chair's pretty comf-" "HEY THERE I FIGURED YOU'D WANT A NEW CHAIR!" "Oh no this chair's fine thanks." "Oh well that's unfortunate because you're getting this new chair regardless of if it's comfortable or not!" "I dunno, I really liked that other chair, couldn't you make it optional for me to use that one instead?" "Nope! I'm now going into the other room, unfortunately it's soundproofed so I can't hear any of your complaints about the chair! Now bicker among the other guests about how wonderful your new chair is."

It's possible you already made a secondary G+ page to keep your username.

The two RandonPeersons and the top one are on the same account. The one with the check mark is the one with all my shit in it. I can't delete the third one. I've tried.
Great, after a long hiatus I come back to the comments section turned into a gigantic advertisement for google+ and cutting out features of youtube so you are forced to use google+. I can't even comment on my own videos now without "upgrading". I thought it was bad enough that you keep getting that popup and that "Ok, we will ask later" but this is inexcusable. Go fuck yourself google. I'm seriously thinking of ditching YT for vimeo or something else.

Google should add the option to copy everything from one account to another.
Man, I had to reblock comments on adblock. Feather seems pretty fricking sweet though..
Google stop being fucking retarded Jesus Christ YouTube comment linking is fucking awful Anything related to google plus is awful If it wasn't YouTube everyone would of moved to another video uploading site
Seems to me like they are just trying to turn everything into "google+"
Google just needs to accept that Google+ was a tremendous failure and they need to stop imposing this shit on everything
im in favor of a gradual shift to vimeo forever
So youtube is apparently deleting all comments and google+ posts that say negative things about the new comments update. I'm fairly sure this is true, because a video supporting the comment update that previously had 8,000 comments now has 600, and someone who uploaded a video talking about how bad the update his had his account terminated.
im in favor of a gradual shift to vimeo forever
I love Vimeo but I'm not a small film maker nor have the money to pay for their membership fee's otherwise I'd be switching
im in favor of a gradual shift to vimeo forever
Sadly Vimeo is a whole lot smaller. Only about 60 million unique visitors in comparison to YouTube's 1 billion. And Vimeo almost feels like a "deluxe" club, like you need to be a professional director to even be allowed to upload anything there.
"most comment notifications" ? Okay, why "most"? Which ones? Why is it these ones and not these ones? How can I know which? I've had no complaints with YouTube update save for the recent channel layout change — this one is the most amazingly terrible by far. [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] Reshares showing up as comments is UTTER NONSENSES; Sharing isn't commenting. I don't give a fuck that some dude shared that video with his friends. The best part is that a thumbs up is actually a +1, so if a reshare gathers a lot of +1s on Google+... it becomes the top comment of your video...
So youtube is apparently deleting all comments and google+ posts that say negative things about the new comments update. I'm fairly sure this is true, because a video about the comment update that previously had 8,000 comments now has 600.
It's not youtube doing that, It's the broken system that shares comments between youtube and google+ let's say John McWatters finds a video titled "Youtube Comments Are Inherently Broken And Here Is Why" Now, John McWatters is a Google+ user. He comments on the video in a good tone, happy that youtube is now integrated with his google+ experience. This gets posted to McWatter's G+ page as a thread, in which other people can comment on it for whatever reason. However, since the framework now underlying youtube is the google+ comment framework, that comment gets mirrored on the "Youtube Comments Are Shit Now" video. Beth Anderson comes along, a long time youtube user. This person has some actual common sense and a need to explain why things are awful. He spots McWatter's comment on said video, and comments on it through youtube dot com, saying that McWatters clearly has no idea what he is talking about. However, Anderson's comment via youtube was actually a reply to a thread on McWatter's G+ page. Since there is no way to tell the two apart, nobody knows whether the comments originated on G+ or on youtube. McWatters takes offense to the statement made by Anderson, and deletes Anderson's comment from his G+ Profile. McWatters does not want such obscene language and hate on his profile, as he sees that as what facepunch users would call "threadshitting" Deleting Anderson's comment from his Plus page also removes it from the youtube video, due to how this is now handled. do you see why this is terrible because this is pretty terrible
You know what was a lot more social than all this bullshit? Video responses. [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] ... jesus fucking christ [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] I can't reply to comments on my OWN video?
I can't reply to comments on my OWN video?
Shit like this makes me hope that there will be an alternative to YouTube. Chances are that isn't happening though.
Shit like this makes me hope that there will be an alternative to YouTube. Chances are that isn't happening though.
There are alternatives. The problem is that everybody uses Youtube so trying to start anything on another site is kind of hopeless.
People are putting the new "links inside of comments" feature to good use, it seems. [t]http://i.imgur.com/ncgZopq.png[/t] Also, more spam bots [t]http://i.imgur.com/Zej1M0H.png[/t] This one is just what the fuck.
It's What the fuck because she's looking at it from G+, and she just sees random comments with someone called "GreedyMexican" randomly attacking some person. Edit: sorry Im late
You know, at this point I'm almost tempted to just completely disable comments across all my videos :/
[t]http://i.imgur.com/uhH5eHj.png[/t] I think I made it mad.
Oh thank god there's google feather, fuck you google, you can go fuck yourself.
On another note. Who the fuck even speaks like this.
It's What the fuck because she's looking at it from G+, and she just sees random comments with someone called "GreedyMexican" randomly attacking some person.
This is just fucking depressing now.
This will probably die down after a few weeks after people get used to it, but if it doesn't, you guys should convince content providers to try to move away from YouTube and starting hosting their channels on other websites. The only way the general population will start moving away from YouTube is if content providers do it first. So if you're actually mad at this and you don't want YouTube to succeed, that's what should happen.
I can't wait for the update where all the buttons are written in cuneiform and attached to random points on a hypercube.
