Google makes youtube even more impossible to use. (comment changes)
VIMEO is extremely limited unless you PAY 60 dollars per year or 10 bucks per month. Besides, vimeo is NOT a video sharing site like Youtube, it's more of a showcase site for more serious stuff.
https://vimeo.com/plus
500mb upload per week
1 HD video upload per week
no HD embedding
no statistics
And paying 10 dollars per month only brings your bandwidth to 5GB per week.
Well shit, the chances of finding an alternative is going to be impossible if that's the second best option.
Doesn't support large view size without going to full screen so nope
That's the ONLY thing preventing me from using it
Well shit, the chances of finding an alternative is going to be impossible if that's the second best option.
We have to hope that the demand will inspire a proper alternative.
On the plus side, they've added a system that now identifies if a comment is spam or not. And automatically hides it completely!
not sure how it detects it but most posts ive seen on my own videos that are "detected" as spam are not spam at all
I'd gladly disconnect my Google+ but people have experienced a loss of subscribers when doing so. This one guy on YouTube lost 180k subscribers the moment he untied from G+.
Not worth the risk.
Oh, well that's a different situation. I don't have any subscribers; I just wanna comment on videos anonymously.
How did you people get to keep your normal YouTube name? I cannot find an option for it and I don't want to use my real name.
So it made me make a Google+ account, and now I'm paranoid thinking it'll start telling everyone what I'm searching.
We have to hope that the demand will inspire a proper alternative.
YouTube alternative kick starter.
Not sure if we would have enough people to make it work though.

Even if it does not work now, you can definitely count on youtube updates getting progressively worse until it does happen. Seeing how terrible their updates have gotten since 2009, id say its a guarantee.
Also this made my day. :v:
I'm seriously starting to think Google keeps doing this to get people to stop using Youtube regularly. For what reason though, bring back fucking Google video?
I love every time Google updates YouTube, just so I can watch everyone say "fuck this we need a better service!" and then nobody ever does anything.
Fuck you google.
Stop shoving your fucking social crap in our assholes.
If we fucking wanted to use your shitty google+ then we would fucking sign up for it.
jesus christ, good that I never comment but this will just continue until they decide to merge google+and youtube because 'we need to be big like facebook!!!! USE OUR SOCIAL MEDIA CRAP'

Personally, I love it when any large group, be it governmental, corporate or citizen-comprised is a bag of dickheads, and everyone says "We need to fix/replace/destroy group (X)!" Then nothing happens and no one does anything, ever, because it's easier to just deal with it by ignoring it, and diving into false worlds of various depths and complexities.
This is just how it is with everything nowadays. I've personally given up on trying to change it, as I have accepted that no one else will do shit, and that I can't personally convince them to do otherwise. Ironic, really.
At least we can all still agree that YouTube and Google suck ass while doing nothing about it.
I saw this on Tumblr and it raised a pretty interesting question.

Maybe not Internet Explorer, but Google Chrome? Of course nothing wrong with Google Chrome, but there's plenty of people who prefer other browsers. What with all this Google+ bullshit, I wouldn't think forcing people to use their browser would be too far out...
They wouldn't do that, they're not that retarded.
Fuck Google+. Now whenever I google my full name it comes up with a picture of me.
Also a picture of Justin Beiber.
Just went on Youtube to check this out. I have a youtube account tied to my gmail account, and until now I have been able to maintain anonymity by using only my screen name on youtube while keeping my personal details out. Google will not allow me to comment on youtube videos anymore unless I choose between two "all or nothing" options:
Your YouTube channel will show [Screen Name] and not [Actual Name]. Would you like to use [Screen Name] on all Google products on this account, instead of [Actual Name]? This includes Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
So, if I get this straight, if I don't want to create a Google+ account, Google is going to overwrite my Gmail account's info to show my actual name as my Youtube screen name.
What.
They wouldn't do that, they're not that retarded.
They'll force you to use Chrome of course.
er·go·nom·ics (ûrg-nmks)

1. (used with a sing. verb) The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.
FUCK ERGONOMYYYYYYYY
Google has got George Lucas syndrome with Youtube.
All this bullshit youtube is pulling just makes me want to completely get rid of my Google+ account just so it would stop harassing me about it. Fucking hell.
They'll force you to use Chrome of course.
No, they wouldn't do that.
A lot of places might enforce a certain browser, like internet cafés and workplaces and schools, so if Google made Youtube Chrome only, they would risk cutting off a large amount of people.
I can't even post anything, the box just says "share your thoughts" and I can't type anything in it. Good fucking job, you idiots.
They'll force you to use Chrome of course.
An excellent idea, make the website have a shit UI and force users to use a non standard UI that is different from 99.9% of the user's other applications. This sounds alarmingly like something they would do.

Thank you Google for revealing to me this vital information. If you'll excuse me I will now deliberately go to the bathroom after which I shall intentionally wash my hands.
You know, at this point I'm almost tempted to just completely disable comments across all my videos :/
Disable comments, make a reddit/forum for your videos, use as comment section.

That's a brilliant idea.

lol fuck off
Normally Youtube updates are minor things people whine about, and promptly forget, but this one seems to be genuinely bad.
The only way they could get more aggressive pushing Google+ is with a physical crusade.
