I'm going to switch to Vimeo. It is a much better site if you aren't looking to make ad revenue and don't need to upload more than 5GB a month.
This seems relevant enough.
Oh Vimeo doesn't allow video game screen captures. That's fine for me but I can see that being a big turn off.
Why do they keep trying to force this bullshit? Does ANYONE else other than them even want this?
I'd pay someone to host a version of Youtube back from 2008-2009
I'd pay someone to host a version of Youtube back from 2008-2009
I'd pay someone to make a script that changes it back to the 2010 youtube. It was somewhat nice.
Welp, good thing adblock can just block the comments section from loading.
Might as well do this
just use feather
I'm fucking afraid that if I try do anything, my yt account will be overwritten or some shit and that I'll lose all my subscribers. I've only got 152 subscribers but I worked fucking hard for them and there is no way in fucking hell I want to lose them. [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] did something and euuugh this is such a mess. why the fuck would they do this [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] I still don't know where the fuck I'm meant to look to see if someone commented on my videos. Is it seriously only shown via email or mobile? [editline]7th November 2013[/editline] I seriously am so fucking confused with this crap
And I think the new update made the iPad app shit itself, suddenly nothing is working, I have to use an unofficial one that is better in general.
just use feather
Perfect. Now I just need YT to actually use the screen and not the 1/3 vertical and 1/3 horizontal and it's all I have ever wanted.
first i couldn't stand that it kept begging me to link my real name to my youtube account (which is fucking retarded) and now this shitty shit google+ isn't popular enough to do this man why are you even trying
I don't get it, just have a video and comment section, why make it so complicated?
-snip-
I like how if you don't have a Google+ profile you can't comment or upvote comments. And the comments that were made pre-Google+ you can't see the upvotes on, reply to or otherwise interact with. Everyone's equal but some are more equal than others. I bit the bullet and got a Google+ profile. I fucking had to, didn't I?
I can still post without linking Google+ or using real name
I love every time Google updates YouTube, just so I can watch everyone say "fuck this we need a better service!" and then nobody ever does anything.
This is the bad thing about monopolies. Now, Google hasn't said "nobody can ever make another video site" but YouTube is so mainstream and so used that even the sheer thought of moving to another service isn't feasible. So they can do whatever the fuck they want and everyone just has to shut up and sit there. I'd probably protest if I was anywhere close to Google HQ.
can google just fucking admit google+ failed I get it, they don't like admitting they mess up, it hurts their image, but it failed. fuck, stop trying to force it everywhere
I saw this on Tumblr and it raised a pretty interesting question. Maybe not Internet Explorer, but Google Chrome? Of course nothing wrong with Google Chrome, but there's plenty of people who prefer other browsers. What with all this Google+ bullshit, I wouldn't think forcing people to use their browser would be too far out...
COnsidering that google is doing their best for people to stop using windowsphone with youtube, you might not be that far from the truth.
Guess it's time to just forego comments altogether then. I mean, most Youtube comment sections aren't even all that bad when it comes down to it, but fucking a, this is insufferable. It's bad enough that everything on Youtube is shoved to the left side for absolutely no good reason, and we never got an explanation for it. If there's one thing I find joy in when it comes to Youtube updates it's:
FUCK GOOGLE AND YOUTUBE I'M GOING TO ONLY USE VIMEO FROM NOW ON
ahahahahahaha hhaaaaaaaaaa
Oh thank god there's google feather, fuck you google, you can go fuck yourself.
until youtube completly removes youtube feather and adds youtube+ the new social video media!! (you will be forced to use it)
if they even think about that I'll drop google, youtube and gmail harder than a newborn baby
Call me crazy, but I really, really doubt Youtube would force a browser on you. I think that would actually be one of the worst things they could do, and the original comment was probably meant as hyperbole.
just use feather
I'd use that if it didn't prevent me from using the bigger player size.
Google doesn't just know when to fucking give up. Really, the "social network" they've managed to establish as a last ditch to compete with Facebook is thus far only a lousy piece of shit abomination that just makes things even harder.
Most of the channels I go to go post a comment force me to make my account google plus-ed, I also noticed that with every channel update it takes away more creativity for it. I bet the next channel update will remove the little banner on your profile, then the one after that takes away your avatar. I bet during one of those updates they remove favorites in favor for the like feature and take away the list you can make for other channels and just replace it with a huge advertisement for the most popular youtubers around
Wait what the fuck is this bullshit https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/3523594?hl=en-GB ...???? I have to go to Google+ now to read the comments? They completely destroyed the YouTube Inbox. What the everloving fuck?
Actually no because you get Google+ notifications in the top right of YouTube so the comments are right there
I just use Google+ as a easy way to change my Youtube username lol
I'd pay someone to host a version of Youtube back from 2008-2009
To be fair I think YouTube has really matured now, except on two points: channel layout and all the social bullshit. It's hindering the experience and potential of the website more than it is making it enjoyable.
