Google makes youtube even more impossible to use. (comment changes)
Google doesn't just know when to fucking give up.
Really, the "social network" they've managed to establish as a last ditch to compete with Facebook is thus far only a lousy piece of shit abomination that just makes things even harder.
Forcing it on people isn't what Facebook did to get popular. They should really look at how that came to be.

Read through thread, disabling adblock fixes my issue
I'd switch to Vimeo but I hear they're not so keen on video game footage.

I love how they don't give you any other option for updating your channel.
It's pretty much like this.
Why the heck does adblock block the comments section.
Presumably because it's full of spam.
I used the Chrome app called Magic Youtube or something like that. I can just remove the comments section entirely. It's not like there's anything important there anyway.
Call me a dipshit faggot, but so far I don't see anything bad with this update. It's a bit confusing, yes, but it's not apocalypse. The forced connection to Google+ is still a crap choice, though.
God damn. I went through the whole procedure thing with "keep your normal YouTube username" and yet when I updated, it changed my fucking name to my real name.
You apparently have to create ANOTHER Google+ profile with your YouTube name to keep it. I just did it and it worked. There's a feature for it under the channel settings tab, something about "Sign out of Google+ and use your normal YouTube username". Then go to a comment profile and try to comment, THEN you can make a new Google+ profile with your YouTube username.
Mind you I still have no idea how to check comments. Anyone able to tell me where I can see comments made on my videos? Like the normal inbox tab.
[editline]edit[/editline]
Oh, that bell up there is your inbox. If someone comments on your videos, it shows up there. I'm starting to like this, the system itself seems more like the old YouTube with the "you don't have to visit video manager > inbox > comments to see if you have any new".
Still seems a bit backwards but it's not as bad as expected!
Although it's already be said, I just noticed the no character limit comment thing.
I posted 67 thousand digits of pi on the "Meet the new YouTube comments" video thing
Well, it was one of the biggest mess I've ever gone through, but I have gone and made a Google+ page for my account. Somehow it created two pages distinct from each other.
I really thought I'd delete the wrong one and my Youtube acount with it. With nearly 4 years of Youtube, that would've been kinda sad.
It still is a horrible clusterfuck, but I guess it sorta works for now?
Converted mine to my Google+ page, I don't wanna lose my account for resisting the man.
This is complete and utter bullshit.

Wait... You lose your account if you don't integrate Google+?
Wait... You lose your account if you don't integrate Google+?
I've not heard any official statements on this, however a lot of people seem to say it. I just changed mine over so I could comment, I had no idea there was a risk of actually losing your account if you didn't.
Well, one more reason to use the video deck then I guess. It just shows me my subs in an orderly fashion and puts them on the screen in a big format, pretty much all I need anyway.
If only there some viable competition to save us from this monopoly arrogance.
...
Valve, c'mon, you know you want to stretch your resources even thinner.
Just so you know it's not really Google's fault-- youtube is a completely different section and even a part of its own building
Presumably because it's full of spam.
Actually, some website will intentionally make certain elements register as ads so that Adblockers will automatically block them and break certain functions. It was even tried here on Facepunch, with numerous elements being intentionally listed in an "ads" directory causing everyone's Adblock to break the site. The idea being it will compel people to turn off their Adblockers. Instead, people just added exceptions and carried on.

Post the first Million digits of Pi!
Nevermind that go download the billion digits of pi txt (one gig) and post it on youtube's comment video.
Post the first Million digits of Pi!
I tried actually, Shockwave flash stops responding the moment I paste it, and when posting a 67086 character comment, it lag's like fuck, and it's a struggle to post
Now who wants to start a new video website a lot better than this.
I tried actually, Shockwave flash stops responding the moment I paste it, and when posting a 67086 character comment, it lag's like fuck, and it's a struggle to post
Well see how far you can push shockwave before it crashes, just ass on a few thousand more each time.
Even better idea, start posting horrible fanfiction on the video. If it's lagging that badly separate it into chunks and post it all gradually. Maybe My Immortal.
The only thing I like about this is that I can get instantaneous updates of when someone comments on my videos.
They obviously just want Google+ to be the next big thing. Every social networking site eventually dies, and people are saying now that the demographic of facebook has shifted so much since all the older people are joining, the next generation will want to use something different. Since Google+ is already integrated into everything it will be the next big thing.

Oh wow, you should know you fucked up when the original co-founder is questioning the decisions.
I feel bad for him.
I keep thinking about that and I can't help but wonder if that is actually him or if his account was compromised.
I'm just so grateful I have a legacy account that still isn't linked to a google+ page, although google constantly asks me to link it.
G+ honestly thinks my name is my father's middle name and my last name. I don't know why it even knows my father's middle name.

And even then, why would it care?
