I'm not talking about whether the body count is higher for Israelis or Palestinians; I am not talking about whether Israel or Palestine is a bigger asshole. What I am talking about is perception and attitudes.
The rocket strikes and car bombings undermine the safety of the Israeli people, and that becomes stronger the more Israel feels the need to report and emphasize the attacks. When you perceive a group of people to be at war with you, to be attacking civilian targets, possibly putting you at risk, it can be a bit easy to develop a prejudice against the group.
This is probably how Israel is able to continually justify their terrorist activities against the Palestinians. They create a state of war scenario, create fear among their populace, and then the people feel that something needs to be done about the Palestinians. It isn't that the average Israeli is a dick; but the average Israeli may very well be just manipulated for a purpose, similar to how citizens of every country are manipulated to some extent or another.
Oh I'm not saying that every Israeli is in their right state of mind, I imagine that with the threat of your kid going to school and being terrified that they do get hit by a rocket that all you get back is a match box of bone fragments and flesh is gonna make you want to flatten anyone who might try and hurt your kid, but all the parties involved are doing is making shit worse, especially with Israels over reaction since one or two rockets is not equivalent to an F-16 dropping unguided bombs and cluster munitions.

And just to perfectly illustrate my point, this one is from yesterday.
http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/10/24/israel-palestinians-gaza-rocket-airstrike.html
Just to make it clear, I don't put the majority of the blame on the Israeli people, they're a victim of circumstance to some degree, as are the Palestinians, they both want each other dead to ensure their safety, but I fully blame the Israeli government because they need to be able to keep their heads together in these scenarios to come to a resolution but time and time again they consistently fuck it up in some unfathomably creative way that wouldn't even occur to your average human being.

Well yea, but these are actions that are taken by militants in Gaza, and the Israeli Government. The average Israeli isn't out there making the decision to hurt Palestinians, they are scared of being attacked and want something done about it. Government takes that fear and uses it to justify the actions that they deem acceptable.
All parties involved are not dicks. The civilians are the party simply made to suffer and die while governments and insurgents battle.
The prevalent bias in sensationalist headlines cracks me up. It's not like it's a one sided relationship. Make a poll about Jews in any of the surrounding Arab countries and I'm sure you would get similar results. It's a reciprocal hate relationship that has been going on for ages.
And that's not taking the countless factors into account of what might be the cause of this. I can't believe someone here is stupid enough to think that this is the reason Arabs hate Israelis.
The difference is that Israel is the occupying and colonial power. They are party committing oppression and shouldn't have anywhere near as close as a resentment as the Palestinians possess, you can't compare Arabs and Israelis. They're not being relocated or evicted from their homes, their livelihoods destroyed or families killed. And you're right, that's why the Arabs hate the Israelis.
The whole conflict is an absolute tragedy, as are all conflicts. The most vulnerable are invariably made to suffer for the interests of a few powerful people.
People are now "SOMEHOW" racist even though our people went through the holocaust.
Boo fucking hoo.
Why is there at least one jew who always plays this card? The holocaust was horrible, but it happened 80 fucking years ago. You weren't alive and you didn't suffer through it.
All you ever manage to do, is give a voice of legitimacy to the claims of people like Ahmadinejad.

Your "new point" is still shit. The reason why this is an article is because its a majority, not because every single Jew is expected to be a "perfect soul" as you accused the pollers (who were ironically Jewish-Israeli) of doing.
Wow, this is disgraceful
503 jews is a majority?

Israel is held to higher standards because it's a "western" country.
The west is always going on about human rights and freedom then Israel does what it does.
Would you like having a friend that goes around shitting on what you believe in and making you look bad?
For the record I'm not taking sides here, just trying to explain why people seem to bias against Israel fucking up.
503 jews is a majority?
You're really not very good at this trolling business are you.
More than two-thirds of the 503 Jewish citizens questioned by the polling company Dialog said they would oppose voting rights for the 2.5 million Palestinians living in the West Bank if it was annexed to Israel
503 jews is a majority?
Do you have the slightest clue how polling or poll-sampling works or are you just wasting my time by trolling?
More than two-thirds of the 503 Jewish citizens questioned by the polling company Dialog said they would oppose voting rights for the 2.5 million Palestinians living in the West Bank if it was annexed to Israel
You clearly do not understand how statistics and polling work.
I am saying jews can be racist just like anyone else on the planet and that this article brings no new cards to table.

Sure, it just so happens that Israel is one of the most racist areas on Earth.
It doesn't help that the Israelis for years, and the Jewish community for centuries, have been distinguished by their delusions of superiority.
As an Israeli citizen I can assure you that none of my friends nor relatives would ever express any opinion close to what the article states,

Hate to break it to you, but given the population of Israel, 503 people is enough to get a confidence interval of about 5 with 99% certainty. This shit is accurate.

hey man
what are you doing
take your rational arguments somewhere else
this is an israel thread
Here come the Israel apologists.
yeah man watch out for us
we might reach different conclusions about something
like the fact that racism between every group in the region is probably the most fundamental reason of why peace and stability are so difficult to achieve

Israeli apologists are disgusting in 99% of the opinions they hold.

You're conclusion amounted to "it's okay that Israel is a racist state because..."
But what can people expect coming from you.

cool bro youre totally not being a judgmental labeling asshole
maybe I just think that using ridiculous rhetoric like apartheid state and concentration camp is a stupid oversimplification and its not productive in any kind of conversation about anything
and that you might consider holding Israel to the same standard as you do other nations in the region

No, literally your only contribution to this thread was "but the other countries!"
It was neither intelligent or to do with the issues involved.
Excuse me if I didn't write out a well-written and heavily researched thesis on this complex issue, it's not as if we've heard it all before when there used to be a dozen of these threads made every fucking day.

Do you know what a reasonable sample size is?
"Guys it's only the Israeli government who's bad and you should blame. They are all good and honest people, stop generalizing them."
Excuse me as I will from now take it as a simple fact that more than one in three Israelis are a xenophobic cunts.
the study may be accurate but calling one in three israelis 'xenophobic cunts' is a tad crude.
the study may be accurate but calling one in three israelis 'xenophobic cunts' is a tad crude.
I am sometimes a rude person.
If they are this way, I have no better names for them.

Well, the majority of Israelis polled from the sample group believe themselves that they live in an Apartheid or Apartheid-like state. So I don't think it's necessarily ridiculous rhetoric.

But you wasn't even on topic.
You were simply doing a bad divert from the real issue of the amount of racism that is endemic in Israeli society.
So not only were you not well-wrote or heavily researched, you weren't even in the right thread.
