The established punishment is being tossed off a cliff.
ISIS though is apparently willing to improvise when suitable cliffs are not available.
They basically live in caves. They have cliffs.

That's like getting two private investigators and making them follow each other.
ISIS claimed, they were gay.
what if they weren't?

I totally agree with you however Sharia law is a fundamental pillar of Islam, to deny it is to deny their entire religion, something countries of the world are not willing to do.
Very few Islamic countries do not have Sharia law, the main one being Turkey however the demand for Sharia law in Turkey is rising and the west has been appeasing Muslims by allowing 'minor' integration of Sharia courts as an alternative legal system.
Article from 2014 by the telegraph explaining the UK's current role with sharia law and it's growing number of sharia courts:

An interesting article by Boris Johnson regarding greater sharia law implementation in the uk:

And the bolded is why I'm glad my country has it where if you try to arrest someone for some sort of quazi-court, you get arrested with a federal felony :D
If they really were fairies, why didn't they fly away?

Is denying canon law denying the entire Catholic religion, or is denying Halakha denying the entire Judaic religion?
People for some reason assume it's only Islam which has its own law system, when every single religion including the church of England has its own system of laws and codes.
why?
historical revisionism is only a useful tool to totalitarians who want to consolidate power by pretending that an opposition doesn't exist
As a historian, I adore historical revisionism. It's pretty much the best source of research on historical research, if you wanna be super meta. Just reading about Japanese views on WWII compared to German views and Western views makes me all giddy and wiggly all over.
Gets even better when you go into times in history that people are actually proud of instead of just trying to hide. Revisionism is the best satire for historians.

Is throwing them off a building an actual punishment according to sharia law though?
Heck did they even have buildings tall enough when they formed sharia law.

They're probably supposed to be stoned to death for it. The Earth is kinda like a big stone that hits you very fast.

Just quipping in here for the record, historical revision doesn't mean removing stuff it literally means being a historian and correcting things that are wrong, or reanalyzing historical events from a different cultural/national perspective (as cultures and nations tend to exert bias in historical interpretation)
Like if people said "vikings wore horned helmets" and you correctly said "actually that never happened" that would be an example of historical revisionism because you're correcting a commonly held misconception. When it comes down to it, the fact that people use "historical revisionism" as a pejorative is pretty bad, because it's basically part of a system of peer review and standard scholarly practice.
History is not a popularity contest, things that actually happened are history. Deleting or erasing history on the other hand, is something entirely different than revisionism.

It's not as if Arabs were living in mud huts before Muhammad came along.

Sharia law says either a high place or a cliff, I forget which.

Does anyone in Iraq support ISIS?
I think the media sort of has an image of them being portrayed as taking Iraq Hostage, but ISIS is effectively a populist movement. They have a popular ideology which resonates with poor people. In the photo album we see people gathered around the building to watch this shit happen; are they supporters of ISIS?

For fuck sake.
Does it really matter? The whole thing essentially boils down to:
If man puts dick in man, kill both. The whole toss off cliff/building/stone them is just a method, the end result is that you kill gays.

They have a large support in Anbar province of Iraq, which was their strong point during the American war there.
It's mostly due to the Shi'ites in control of Baghdad passing Sunnis in the province as second class citizens. The Islamic States's support there is more out of considering them the lesser of two evils than being pro for their policies.
