I don't get this whole campaign that is trying to convince me that immigration is amazing and wonderful in the sense it betters my country culturally or whatever. I think its necessary in capitalism but something to brag about? Not really. When I think of Germany I like to think of its national identity it used to have, not other countries cultures. If you look at history then everything is built off immigration. Romans stopped being Roman and lost their culture as the Empire became gradually less Romanised and increasingly Germanic in nature: they became Germanics, Roman army itself a mere supplement to federated troops of Goths, Huns, Franks and others fighting on their behalf. Our cultures will be constantly changing, its just natural when you inject lots of different people into a nation.
What is scaring people however is the actual rate its changing or the people are changing. Per example 50 years ago most of London was white, now its mostly Asian and Black, not saying that's a bad thing but its shows you rapid change. Its a psychological tribal system we still have in coded into us, and I think a lot of people feel like their 'tribe' is being wiped out by other peoples 'tribes'.
Though if people are complaining about not enough 'native' people in their countries, they should be making more children - then we wouldn't have to rely on immigration as much. They should also work for less.
